HOTNebraskaGuy 19,547
In July of 2014, Lady Gaga stated "Cheek To Cheek will be the end of the beginning of my career". Keeping up with her promise, the album cycle change from ARTPOP to Cheek to Cheek was more than a simple transition. It was a re-brand of Lady Gaga. Ever since then, Gaga has never been or sounded the same. Her voice, her face, the way she carries herself and acts. Nothing is like it was prior to 2014, except for her motives and passion. Her music before Cheek to Cheek could all be described under one genre: dance. The Lady Gaga that shocked the world with "Just Dance" in 2008 and the Lady Gaga that released the electronic infused hit "Applause" was virtually the same. But now, there's a certain feeling to her newer music. I suppose genuine would be belittling to her older music, but it'll use it anyway. Listening to songs like "Til It Happens To You", "Bang Bang", and even her recent lead single "Perfect Illsuion" show it. I'd like to get a bit off topic here for a bit and question, how many of her recent career choices were planned? If she knew she was going to completely evolve in 2014, did recent releases happen on purpose? Was the release of "Til It Happens To You" months after the documentary's release a strategic move? Did the "Original LG5" actually sound like her proior music and was it really filled with "bops" that most would like to believe? Or was it really a more personal, emotional, and developed album like Joanne? I guess the point of this post is to reflect and remember this important shift in Gaga's career, and how important it will be seen later down the road. One, five, ten lay a million on me
TSUNAMI 21,096
Dianne in this pic tho. Yes, Gaga did something that some entertainers (you see how I'm not using word "artists") fail to do - she reinvent herself.
OBEY 57,109
i dont think she planned this revamp - who would "plan" that they would underperform? the world was basically at her feets and most people didnt see it coming
weed 74,550
ok.... "Cheek To Cheek will be the end of the beginning of my career." has me shook. It really was the end of the beginning. Up til then she was the mysterious, crazy Gaga, and now she will navigate her career as an established, recognized for her talent, legend.
Vodka 4,478
I'm still holding to the theory that is the holy Paparazzi video. It's all planned, she's in control Yes, I also do love partying in moving houses as seen in that one Bacardi tv ad.

AJK273 2,700
I'm just praying that the next album will hold some essence of the gaga that the fans love, I really wanna see her grab the mainstream pop industry sonically by the balls like she did on TF, TFM and BTW. I wish we got the original vision for LG5 Messy, Petty, Beautiful, Covergirl
