giskardsb 12,565
Gaga fans seem to fall into two broad camps, those that enjoy and embrace the diversity Gaga shows in continuously trying new things and branching into different genres, or those that would prefer she stick with doing the type of pop music she became famous for. I personally love her diversity. I watched C2C live the other day again and marveled at how fantastic her voice was and her showmanship in that type of production. She totally owned the stage when she was on. It would be very depressing to me had we never gotten to see that and I truly hope that C3C or more jazz work is not too far off. I love that when I random play Gaga's work including studio, unreleased, and other performances we end up on a journey including dance pop, pop, edm, jazz, rock, folk, americana, country, etc, often in hybridized form. So for me, I'm all about the diversity. I want Gaga to stretch and try new things and it's fun when she pulls a surprise like Joanne, which pretty much nobody was expecting but is still brilliant and adds another interesting grouping to her catalog. On the other hand, I can understand how fans of certain parts of Gaga's work would want her to repeat herself more often. I personally think the style of BTW is what I'd call her most fitting pop style, or at least the style I prefer. That dark, rock and hard edm hybrid influenced thing with dark visuals really worked for her and I'd like to see her explore that landscape further. However, it would have really been a shame if we simply had 5 versions of The Fame at this point, rather than all the variety we have now. We never would have had TFM or BTW without her being willing to change, and I doubt most people here would give those albums up for her more standardized early pop sound. so do you like Variety-Ga or would you prefer she stick with something? Fiona Apple 13,006
I like diversity in general. But I don't like the way Gaga changes
RonnieGagz 4,300
I want diversity, but I think she should be changing between a new genre and pop, then the little complainers would stop whining ♡Gaga♡TØP♡Nightwish♡Lana♡Lorde♡Grimes♡
Harry 26,836
I like the amount she changes. It keeps it interesting. Something like C2C is not something that I revisit often, but I appreciate it a lot and think it was very daring of her. That being said, I don't think I'd stay that entertained if she took as many radical U-turns from her albums as she did from ARTPOP to Cheek To Cheek to Joanne. For example, if she did that heavy metal album - I probably wouldn't be that into it. I'm a musician myself and I like to think I have a wide appreciation of different styles because I've learnt about different things, but they simply aren't all to my tastes. I don't actually think Joanne is that different to her previous works. It's still pop, at the end of the day. When you take C2C out of the equation, in my eyes, it's a pretty healthy/natural rate of change and growth. But stanning for someone that you literally can't guess what she'll do next.... Yes, I like that a lot.
Alien Tulip 12,428
I love it. I loved the cheek to cheek album and era for the confidence it brought her as an artist. However I don't know if I would want another cheek to cheek duet album with tony bennett. I want a SOLO jazz album from Gaga. I want to listen to jazz songs that Gaga wrote using her pen or typewriter. Maybe her solo jazz album can have 2 or 3 songs with Tony as a feature. thierryrreiht 20,942
people who don't like her changing: there are PLENTY of other pop girls who do just that (stick to one thing) it's really not difficult to find Gaga is an original who changes as she pleases. WildAmerican 13,672
I think the transition from TF > TFM > BTW was pretty seamless but the transition from ARTPOP > C2C > Joanne was a radical change. That being said, I do like that all her albums sound different. (ARTPOP and BTW are my Gym albums, while Joanne and TFM are my chill vibe albums. For her next record, I would like more Pop sounding songs but also some of the sound of Joanne. A lot of what's popular right now have pretty minimalistic production (SOY, IDWLF, the "Drake sound") so I wouldn't mind if she went that direction. PartySick 153,523
I love that she's completely different but always the same in every album cycle. She keeps it fresh and constantly reinvents herself and she does it well. That's something to be admired and embraced Of course, part of me wishes she'd throw out one of those bop hit singles just to keep people placated. The album tracks will be there for the rest of us that enjoy her artistry in its entirety 🧡The blindfold's off my eyes, all I see for me is better days🧡
The Fame Joanne 5,985
I like how diverse she is and I really loved C2C. I'm here for her changing as long as Pop stays her main genre. Means: performances in other genres are great, but I wouldn't like a full Metal era with album and World Tour for for example
DeanWinchester 41,390
I like her diversity but she needs to go back to pop sometime in the future. I'd love that metal/rock album though Flyin' like a 1000 Doves
REALITY 75,488
Can I just sat that if you don't like her diversity, then I'm sorry, but why are you a Little Monster, then? Gaga is the epitemy of change and evoltuion. While pop is her main focus, she's always going to evolve and do more diverse things—whether that be acting, music, or otherwise. While you can like her pop stuff more than say, jazz or her acting career, wanting her to just stick with pop is delusional. She's not going to stick in one lane, she'll forever change, and we just need to learn to accept that. 🦠🧙♀️🥀📸🎉👻🕺🧟💊💖☎️🔪👤🐺🌱🌎
YaaaasGaga 6,119
She wouldn't be an artist if she stayed the same forever, it's that simple really. I don't know how this is still a question...
