In January economy grew 0.6% over last month, and economy grew at least 0.3% every month for past 8 months

For the first quarter of 2017 growth if at least 4% annualized is expected. Manufacturing and energy have been the biggest gainers

Infrastructure stimulus, higher oil prices and improving US consumption combined have surged growth.

Nevertheless Real-Estate and high consumer debt remain a hugh risk factor!

American business feeing to Canada? :oprah:

Some Corporations like Burger King have... but i dont think the rate of businesses moving here over the last year has changed much

I think its a combination of stimulus spending on infrastructure (our last Government was trying to force us back to surplus like we had before 2008 but our new Government is willing to run moderate deficits for next 5 years)

Also higher US Dollar and higher consumption has been good for our exports and manufacturing

Also somewhat recovered Oil Prices. Western Canada (Especially Alberta and Saskatchewan) are very resource based and higher prices is helping them recover

I think a crash soonish is becoming more and more likely.. student loan crisis in the US, housing crisis in bigger cities or car loan crisis - we'll see what's happening. Eurozone growth is also going really well. Greece probably had a 3-4% primary budget surplus (that's HUGE) in 2016.

Anyways, is this thanks to King Trudeau's policies?

@Luc we knew infrastructure spending does wonders and u were right that now is a good time for Nations to do so

@Woolfsmck @Gaga MonsterGet Trump to pass his infrastructure agenda too!

I hope he does. I heard he is passing Tax first but he should defiantly do Infrastructure ASAP.

Congrats on your countries success! I hope America follows!

Your right about student debt but other than that the US finances of individuals is far more solid now than it was before crisis and real-estate in US has a lot of room to grow as supply remains tight after so many years of under-contruction. The rise of shale will also provide good stimulus to specific States

As for Canada. I think the only thing Trudeau did that may have helped so far is the stimulus spending which has started kicking in. Nothing else he did could of swayed the economy one way or the other

Our tax code is very similar to last Governments. He raised top income bracket to 33% for extra revenue and it was 29% before but he lowered middle bracket to 20.5% from 22%. But to pay for the middle tax cut he did cancel another tax break only families with children got so I dont know if its worth it. My family was slightly better off with the old tax code from conservatives tbh when my parents could income split and now they cant.

Um Corporate taxes remain at 15% that didnt change. And Small business taxes are to be lowered from 11% to 9% but our last Government was gonna do that too. The lower small business tax couldnt have an effect yet besides confidence because it hasnt started yet i dont think.

Deficits for Infrastructure are preferable to deficits on social spending i think because at least its an investment and theres a good multiplier effect on economy!

I agree, I think infrastructure would be the part of his agenda most likely To get bi-partisan support.

I think that the infrastructure growth in Canada is important to the regions that haven't been populated or developed until recently.

The U.S. however has a lot of deterioration and the investment would be to rebuild and repair rather than build new.

Also, some areas haven't recovered from their economic decline and adding new projects wouldn't benefit anyone really as the buisness's and manufacturing have fled to Mexico or Canada.

The high corporate taxes (tax the rich mentality) is dead center the problem with the relocation issue.
