Rihanna's music help soldier get thru his mission in Iraq

 

 

In 2005 I deployed to Baghdad Iraq as an Army Infantryman. One day while wandering through our little tiny store we had set up on Camp Rustamiyah, I came across this Rihanna CD. I downloaded it to my Mp3 player and the next time outside the wire I put my ear buds in and hit play. For some reason the song “Unfaithful†really connected with me. Whether it was my girlfriend dumping me or something else, from that day on I listened to that song every day when we went out. Every time something bad happened I would listen to that song and it would honestly make me feel better.
Some Soldiers cling to religion, lucky charms or one of a million other things but for me it was that song. I wish I could thank Rihanna for helping me keep it together in a really hard place and time. I understand that I will never actually talk to her but at least the one person reading this message will hear me. There is no way for me to repay Rihanna for helping me get through my time spent overseas. As a proud Father, Husband and former Army Infantry Staff Sergeant I can only offer my thanks.

Yeah, I think Rihanna as a person is trash. "You may like some of her songs, that's it" um, sorry but you can't tell me what I do and do not like. Overall I like her message of not giving a **** what people say, I just think she's taken it to the extreme. I think she can dress really ghetto, but she does wear some amazing things. I think she's drop dead gorgeous. I also own all of her albums, and while her latest is a ghetto mess its still fun and I love to sing and dance to the songs. 

I loved Rihanna, and that's why I'm so disappointed in what she's become. I wouldn't have been so butthurt about what happened at the concert if I didn't care about her. You can't tell me what I do and don't like.

Also they way you are treating me is really unkind and rude. "NOBODY wants you here" that's not very Born This Way of you because I'll post in whatever thread I want

Get over it, really why do you come on this thread? To complain about your bad experience for the 100th time? We know you had a bad experience, sorry, we don't need to hear about it all the time. Your posts are unnecessary, it isn't being rude, it is some advice. Cause you comment your negative opinion on her from your concert experience again, when we already know okay? Then you argue with someone which leads to unnecessary arguments going on and on.. So accept your bad experience, move on, be negative some where else, please.
