During the Iran-Contra scandal, North testified with immunity to congress, then when the DoJ tried to prosecute him, they threw the case out saying the testimony to congress likely tainted the decisions. Based on that, North got off the hook. If Flynn testifies, a skilled lawyer can argue that the testimony has tainted public opinion on him, so he shouldn't be found guilty of some other somewhat related crime.
