I think we're definitely in a time now where extremes on both sides of the spectrum are gaining power. The younger generation is full of socialist minded people and have a very liberal outlook on everything (myself included). And then we've got the the older generation and bible belt people extremely afraid of all the liberalization under Obama and now they've developed far right views because trump has made it "acceptable". The fools in our government that call themselves 'far-right' want nothing but to strip away innocent peoples' rights and give tax cuts to their corporate buddies.
