Jewish teen arrested for international bomb threats to Jewish centers

Jerusalem (CNN) - A Jewish teenager was arrested Thursday in connection with a series of bomb threats that have rattled Jewish institutions and community centers across the US and other countries, Israeli police said.

A months-long international investigation led to the 19-year-old suspect, who used "advanced camouflage technologies" to cover his tracks, police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said.

The suspect holds dual American-Israeli citizenship, an Israeli security official told CNN. He was arrested in Israel after an undercover investigation with the FBI.

The threats were made against sites in the United States, Australia and New Zealand. In one case, an airline had to make an emergency landing because of the threats, Rosenfeld said. 

Law enforcement officials have told CNN they believed many of the threatening calls to Jewish community centers originated overseas.

Israeli police are still trying to determine the teen suspect's motive. The FBI confirmed the arrest and said in a statement it could not provide further information on the investigation.

I am just so confused, unless they were intending to place the blame on someone else and cause hysteria. That's the only motive I can see, if not, that kid is absolutely deranged 

And even after all that, he'll probably not be considered a terrorist by many

But why take anger against your own community? To frame other people? Even then, that's terrible. Religious minorities are already being treated unfairly, and he thought this was the way to go? That's so sad

@legoI wouldn't be surprise if he did it under the request of one of the extreme right organizations like Lehava or from the illegal settlers.. they can actually do it to cause hysteria and to let people believe that the antisemitism  situation in the world is bigger than what it really is..
