In my country we don't even have airplay charts, I think, haha. so its based on marketing Adult Pop radio caters to an older audience than pop radio, and therefore advertisers who want to advertise to an older audience advertise on adult pop instead of pop radio. Therefore, to get listeners adult pop stations tend to play just pop songs (so no "Black Beatles" and no "Needed Me"). And the pop songs they do play and are usually more successful are pop songs based on vocals. Its more easy listening, if you no what I mean. Adele, Kelly Clarkson and P!nk have done very well on this format So that's why The Edge of Glory, You and I and now Million Reasons have done so well on adult pop radio Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
