I am a huge fan of Superhero movies. They imo are the best type out there.

The Marvel Universe (more specifically the Avenger franchise, which includes the Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Guardians of The Galaxy, Ant Man, and the new Spider Man <series starting 2017> movies) is my favourite movie franchise out there.

Now I don't want to discredit DC, because The Dark Knight (mainly due to Heath Ledger) is one of my all time favourite movies, but in recent years, their movies have kind of lost any sort of quality. Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad were two of the biggest let downs of the year, and I lost faith in the new DC Universe they're trying to create because of it.

Marvel has been on a roll in recent years, and for that reason I pick them.

(PS I'm partly doing this to see if there is any other nerds on this site)

I’m a simple guy to please, if you like Melodrama, we chill.

I'm not a big fan of either, because superhero movies are not my cup of tea, but Deadpool was GREAT. So I guess I prefer Marvel :flop:

Marvel :legend:

DC has become such a joke tbh. The one two three punch of MOS, BVS and SS was super embarrassing and behind the scenes it's a huge mess, nobody knows what they're doing. And now these reports about them wanting to fast track a movie (again) for next year is just :saladga: It's really frustrating because they have the complete advantage of owning all the characters (unlike Marvel) but nobody seems to have a ****ing clue over at Warners. They tried to quickly catch up with Marvel and it totally backfired.

Imo they should just euthanize the DCEU and start all over again (for the third time I guess :awkney:)

Are we talking overall, or the recent Cinematic Universes?

Overall, I wanna say MCU is doing better, but tbqh they've been kind of rocky with the latest phase. Ant Man, Dr. Strange, and Age of Ultron were not that fantastic (specifically AOU, which was dreadful), and Civil War, while definitely a good movie, was a bit of a doozy (I think that a lot of elements were added in that weren't initially intended ala Peter Parker... unless it was intended, then it was added in not so smoothly).

That said, The Winter Soldier was such a peak for superhero movies imo that it still hold pretty high.

DCU, on the other hand, has so much potential that's constantly getting squandered, tbh. Man of Steel was okay, if not bloated. BvS? Crowded- could have easily been three movies, or something. Suicide Squad was a mess- great visually, but hard to enjoy even as a mindless popcorn flick. I have high hopes for Wonder Woman, but tbh it's pretty transparent that their rushing for Justice League. They should have let it breathe.

DC for comics and animation and video games

Marvel for live action movies

Life ain't Hollywood for any one of us.

EXACTLY! And now that Legendary is pushing forward their Monsterverse franchises, it's becoming more and more clear that they had the opportunity to take their time with it. But they rushed it, instead.

Also, what's with all the last minute cuts? BvS (uncut), while not perfect, made a significant more amount of sense. Suicide Squad's final cut is, apparently, an Eldritch Horror of a final cut etween two staggeringly different tones.

Like honestly? Mess.gif

Thank you!

Both their characters and stortlines are great. Movie-wise Marvel wins of course but I don't blame DC. That's behind the scenes, ego, money issues and decisions being made by powerful people that don't give a crap about what DC fans want.
