I love how when an artist talks about wanting a #1 before they're career starts, its cute. But later in their career its all supposed to be about "writing for the music not the charts". Does this make sense :emma:

I mean, once you have the bling, might as well be more focused on the music. Any bling that results would just feel more worthwile I guess

It makes logical sense to me because they're usually young, hungry, and trying to get their foot in the door with the GP and establish a fan base of some sort. Then they can afford to get all experimental.

We can also witness the exact opposite. Some emerging artists seem to have a strong faith in their work ethics and creativity during their first years, but then fall into commercial sounds because label pressure/ego/whatever reason. 

"I have been writing LG5 since I was 13"
