You're wrong mate. See, Labour just isnt strong enough. Corbyn is such a weak leader and the party has fallen away. The Scottish people have realised that the only party that has the people of Scotland's interests is the SNP. That's why they won the election 2 terms in a row. We voted overwhelmingly to remain part of the EU and its only fair that our leader seeks the best way possible for us to remain part of the E.U. The SNP is far from an extreme party, the Torries made Scotland worse off when Maggie Thracther was PM, and Mrs. May aint any better. The Torries are becoming more and more right winged, which is not good on the whole of the UK.

Scotland deserves its chance to be free, to control our own finances, have our own say on what happens in our country and not from a country that borders it, and be able to be part of the EU as that's what the people of Scotland wanted.

You are right, Scotland is f*cked if we left the E.U, and right now England is dragging us with it - so its only fair we take matters into our own hands and rejoin the E.U. Scotland WOULD MOST DEFINITELY BE BETTER OFF AS AN INDEPENDENT NATION.

Your leader is Theresa May, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, of which Scotland is part.

Our leader is and has been trying to secure the best deal for the whole of the UK.

Independence is absolutely the worst thing Scotland could do at this point. You're either going to A. Regain control of your country and immediately had it over to Brussels, loosing your relationship with the rest of the UK or B. Have the financial burden of independence allow you to sink into the sea.

No, no, no.

My leader is the first minister of Scotland. The UK isnt a country, its made up of 4 countries. I'm Scottish, born in Scotland, grew up in Scotland and I call Scotland my home. I dont call England my home, or Wales just cause I study here. At the moment, Nicola is the only person willing to whatever it takes to protect our place in Europe. Brexit is the worst thing to happen to all of up and now Scotland has a chance to fix the mess that Mrs. May has left Scotland in. We have another chance at being part of the E.U again. Our economy is bigger than that of England, and if you actually look at it properly, the UK needs Scotland more than Scotland needs the UK. England steal all of our exports. They use money to rebuild the queens house instead of using it to help the NHS.

A yes vote would be the best thing that has ever happened to Scotland.

Corbyn isn't a weak leader at all. He took over Labour when it needed a major change and he's had multiple setbacks from members of his own party despite being the clear favourite leader of the people. The SNP may believe they have good intentions, but the saying goes "the road to hell is paved with good intentions" for a reason. Taking yourself out of the UK and the EU when you'd need as many allies as possible to stay afloat is incredibly reckless.

My city and surrounding areas also voted to remain in the EU but that's because we're one of the lucky parts of the country that weren't being left behind and continued to be successful. Most of the areas that voted to leave were being neglected by the government and wanted to shake them up and the best way to do that was to vote against what they wanted. It pretty much forces their hand into paying the attention they wanted.

Also, I don't think you can compare Thatcher and May at all. May is basically proposing the complete opposite of Thatcher :rip: Thatcher privatised and closed many of our industries, Theresa wants to bring them back... which is kind of obvious if we wanted to be more self sufficient post-Brexit, which we would have to be.

Scotland would die on it's own. Scotland lost power when it's industries were neglected or sold, and now you want to leave the UK when it's going to reboot it's industries? You wouldn't be able to apply to join the EU for years, then you actually have to get in :rip: It wouldn't be able to save you, in fact very little could save an independent Scotland.

England GDP - $2.34 trillion

Scotland GDP - $245.267 billion

Also between 2008-2016, Scotland's GDP had grown 4%, vs. 23% for the UK as a whole.

We have a leader of our United Kingdom, she is the Prime Minister of all 4 countries that make up our United Kingdom.

Theresa May didn't make the decision to leave the EU, the people of the United Kingdom did, including many people from Scotland.

Nobody wants another referendum, it's both divisive and pointless. The outcome will be the same as the last.

The Royal Family generates half a billion pounds in tourism revenue every year, which is spent on the NHS amongst other things. It's a business and in order for a business to make money, it needs to be invested in.

He probably doesn't know that Theresa May wanted to remain in the EU :rip:

1) The UK is the sovereign State (the proper name for a 'country' in international law) which Theresa May is the Prime Minister of. The fact that Scotland, England, Wales, Northern Ireland are called 'countries' is irrelevant. They're basically just regions, or provinces, or whatever term States typically use to describe their administrative divisions.

2) Is Brexit really the worst thing to happen in Scottish history? :laughga: I don't know much about Scotland but I find that hard to believe.

3) The UK does not need Scotland more than Scotland needs the UK. Neither needs the other at all, in fact.

4) How does England steal exports by buying them? You're selling and they're buying.

5) As I'm sure you're aware Scotland has its own budget, whereas England does not. England doesn't have a devolved assembly either so basically has "what's left". Ideal? Not really, but hey. Nonetheless, the English NHS is completely different from the Scottish NHS (which is funded and ran by the Scottish govt) so I'm not sure why someone who has is Scottish through and through, such as yourself, cares.

She's trying to secure the best deal for her party, not her country. The best deal is being in the EU. Considering that's no longer possible, the second best would be as close as possible to the EU. May should accept Freedom of Movement (which is actually positive to the UK as a whole) in turn for single market access, but to appease the far-right in her party she went for a hard brexit.

Neither England nor Scotland has interests in a Brexit, let alone a hard Brexit or a WTO-brexit. Scotland's doing the right thing here and I sincerely hope they 'take back control'!

No I do know that one. But looks like going for a hard brexit is the thing nowadays :awkney:

No she isn't, the majority who voted leave voted to leave all parts of the EU. She's following her mandate.

Freedom of movement of persons is not as beneficial as a selective immigration policy would be. Not to mention freedom of movement of goods is an absolute shambles and she should never agree to such ridiculous policies.

I know the difference between a "soft" and a "hard" Brexit :rip: Your phrasing is just odd and I'm just a little miffed how you can make Theresa May out to be some wicked witch who desperately wants to tear us out of the EU when she literally said multiple times that she didn't want to leave :air:
