Joanne lacks soul

Joanne does have some forced moments (A-Yo, Dancing in Circles, Angel Down) but the authentic songs have some of the most soul in her career, imo. Diamond Heart is pure Gaga rock, Hey Girl and Grigio Girls, and Just Another Day are so NYC girl-next-door Gaga, you can feel the family's sadness in Joanne.

The Fame Monster

JOANNE is perfect just the way it is and it's one of Gaga's best albums beside BTW and TFM.

Yay let's do that, such a smart way to run a forum. "Complete nonsense" well no, I'm sorry to break it to you but some people don't share the same opinion as you and you're gonna have to deal with it dude

how can u not see the album is rushed, let me give you examples:

-"one,five, ten lay a million on me, before the end of the song" gaga freaking rhimed song with me?! In the most weak pre corus she ever ****ing created.

She is not rhyming song with me. Given the placement of words, even if the verse ends with me, she phonetically breaks before on and me. Therefore, she is rhyming on with song. It's not the "most weak pre-chorus" she has ever made.

-ayo has rock vocals over tubas that sound like they were taken from shake it off. Also, that annoying repetition of mirror on the ceiling is cringing me and has nothing to do with any part of the song.

Tubas? :oprah:

Mirror on the ceiling is not some random term thrown. It's alluding to sex, which yes, relates to the song.

-dancing in circles is a metaphore to jerking off and it just pains me and obvious it is. Like when its this obvious she might as well say what she means. Again, display of lack of efford on creativity.

Dancin' in Circles is obvious? Wow, this is coming from someone who thought song was rhymed with me in Diamond Heart...

-perfect illusions lyrics are soooo freaking cheesy and repetitive She had tame impala work with her, but this was just annoyingly repetitive, bad bad bad guitar riffs and vocal mixture, like that yell "aaaaaa it was a perfect illusion" is done so badly.

I'm gonna stop here, because you're post is repetitively off-point and, my only though is that, you must be a troll. Enjoy the little snack I gave you. :bye:

it's not about sharing the same opinion as me... it's about me logging into gagadaily only to open and read threads conveying a point through a whiny series of paragraphs in an nonconstructive way ... "gaga isn't enough of this.. gaga doesn't do enough of that..."

i'm tired of it! it's just pointless... how are we going to nearly 12 pages in this thread about "joanne lacks soul?" because people are doing what they normally do on threads like this and defending gaga. why is this type of discussion necessary? who really cares? does lady gaga? nope.

if there's something gaga has done that im not particularly fond of, then i just listen to something that i do like of hers. i don't run to the forum and instantly shitpost all about it... lol just sayin

There's 2 ways at looking at this concept of musical risk-taking. There's taking a risk in a general sense and then there's taking a personal risk. Taking a general risk involves an artist making an album that doesn't sound like anything that is popular and taking a personal risk would be making an album that's something different from the music they are known for/successful with. Gaga taking a general risk would be creating a Bjork-style album - no catchy beats, unusual singing, obscure lyrics. Albums like that have a niche, but it's small and such albums simply don't sell. Gaga taking a personal risk would involve her making an album that involves popular forms of music but not ones that she is known for. And that is precisely what she has done with Joanne. Some dancey beats, some acoustic ballads, a little bit of country. All popular avenues but apart from the sole dance tune, none of this sounds like the kind of songs that made Gaga popular and successful. Therefore, it might not have been a risk in the grand scheme of things but for her personally, it is.

I think the public have reacted to MR so well partly because it's a side of Gaga that they've never seen until now and they're fascinated by it. For someone who stopped listening to her during/after BTW, it must be so surreal to see her singing a ballad and actually releasing a ballad as a single. She's never done that before. To see her play her piano, you either have to go to her live show or maybe see her do an acoustic re-working of an existing dance tune on a promo slot. But never before has she ever played the piano as the original instrument on a single before. This is a Gaga song unlike any we've ever heard before. It's a simple song, it's a style that's very run-of-the-mill, nothing new about it, but it's new territory for Gaga. So, people are impressed that she took the risk of making such a song and making it as single. Also, country is nowhere near as popular as it used to be (why do you think Taylor switched sides?) so if she truly played it safe, she didn't pick such a bad time for country music to make a country album. All these are reasons why it is a risky album. There's no evidence suggesting that the public or fans wanted a country influenced album from Gaga, but she did it anyway. Risky.

Did you want to say that Joanne Lacks 4 millions album sales worldwide?

I´m asking because the album has PLENTY of SOUL ,but you have to see behind the aura, the curtain, the burga, the sales, the streamings, the YouTube plays,Metacritic score etc.
