Everyone keeps on saying she said she hated it in an interview but I don't think that's accurate. The song is cool and fun and the video is awesome too but it just didn't fit the TFM aesthetic. It was too bright, colorful and "fluff" compared to Bad Romance and Alejandro. On TFM, Telephone represented "the fear of suffocation". That's why the video was basically a parody of the music industry. She hates the idea of being told what she can and can't do and she doesn't want to be put in a box. Telephone being included on The Fame and Paparazzi on The Fame Monster would be pretty interesting tbqh, but still no. That would mean no Beyoncé feature, because Gaga was nobody in 2008. The video is still my fav by her and it's the reason why I became a LM.
