Good post but I don't understand the "ahead of its time" statement regarding ARTPOP. I feel as though ARTPOP took too long to be released and was delayed over and over that it actually sounded dated by the time it was released. Anyway, I'm looking forward to a star is born and am interested to see what it brings to us and what It brings for Gaga.

Critics will drag her, as usual :saladga:

It gives me confidence that she had to audition for the role. They wouldn't have picked her if she wasn't doing great at playing the character. And we all know her and Bradley have great chemistry :queenga: can't wait for this film

Irrespective of her brilliance (or lack thereof), most critics are jealous of her (or any insanely talented and norm-defying person tbh) .

And the whole world is undoubtedly unfair. :nails:

then how do beautiful talented women win Oscars and have amazing careers? Why would they be jealous of Lady Gaga and not some super talented beautiful actress?

You're sounding like Madonna fans who claim that critics were jealous of her acting and never gave her a chance. :toofunny:

You said if Gaga is not brilliant in ASIB , then it will mean the critics are jealous of her and the whole world is unfair. (I think you were being shady towards those who expect her to win best actress Oscar for ASIB - if not I'm sorry for assuming.)

I said irrespective of her brilliance (or lack thereof) in ASIB (i.e. she may or may not be brilliant in ASIB, doesn't matter), its a general truth that most critics are jealous of her (quite apparent from the numerous reviews that drag her music based on her outfits and opinions) or any norm-defying talented (probably should have added famous here) person. And the world in general is unfair, that's an universal truth.

So basically I said that what you said is already true, we do not need to wait till ASIB for that.

Never seen Madonna's acting so can't comment on that. :poot:

I hope I made myself clear. :)

That girl can transform herself into anything, even the narration in the beginning of the marry the night video gives me chills. Trust me, she will be brilliant.

She has a way of speaking that is very compelling and visceral. There are specific sentences that she has said that get stuck in my head or that I will think of in relation to other things.

Sometimes it seems like there is a rhythm to her speech.

The movie still has to be good for people to even consider her performance and appreciate it. I think it has a good chance of being well-made because of how invested Bradley and Gaga are but many things could still go wrong, like poor direction or a overwritten / cliched script. It's exciting nonetheless and I'm sure she'll do her best.
