Ed Sheeran shades artists who fight for creative control over their albums

I agree with what he says to a degree, in a general way.  But he's making it a black and white issue.  There's shades of gray in making music and being true to yourself but not being up your "ass" and surrounding yourself with yes people .  Most of the great music is with collaborations that are true collaborations, not people who still don't challenge you because the artist feels above someone challenging them during the making of music.  And far too many artists think they know everything and put out a shitty first single instead of listening to their label, who often puts their foot down on that.  But if you write your music, the label didn't make you, and after a few albums, with more power, few artists want to bow down to labels.  Sorry, Ed.  Lana did her own thing and put out an amazing album with little label interference, Ultraviolence.  They wanted it fixed, until the person they wanted to listen to it said it was great, and the label backed off.

There's a balance.  It is a business, no matter what people think.  And few really mean it when they say they don't care about album sales or still playing to big audiences, but most aren't slave to the desire to be NUMBER 1 at all costs.

He is probably thinking of a man like Kanye West off the top of my head. I think men compete with men.

I think Little Monsters need to understand the world doesn't revolve around Gaga ASAP

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

I like Ed, but Born This Way will outlast his whole career, let alone Gaga's first two "bigger" albums.

Doesn't matter who he's referring to though, he needs to take a seat and focus on his own artistic growth. His aesthetic has remained exactly the same for a while now.
