Before the last few weeks, people rarely talked about Gaga, and when I brought her up, people would often moan and groan. Now, people are talking about Gaga CONSTANTLY. I had two classes today, and both of my professors used her as examples in explaining various concepts. I hear and see people listening to Million Reasons multiple times a day. A ton of non-stans that I know keep talking about her and have bought tickets to the tour. A co-worker of mine told me his 60 year old father called him after the halftime show saying he hadn't seen something like that since the days of Michael Jackson and Elvis, and he wants tickets to the tour. It hasn't been like this since I was in the 5th grade and Poker Face was on the radio. This is crazy. I always hoped we would get back to this level, and now here we are. So many people always said Gaga needed to make carbon copies of Poker Face and Bad Romance to be cool again, but I think she has proved that all she needed to do was show the world just how talented she is and just how timeless her loving message is. Robo Ga 15,297 Posted March 2, 2017 Share Posted March 2, 2017 I've noticed this too. At my uni, when Joanne tickets went on sale, MULTIPLE people had credit cards out in class trying to get tickets. Also, Super Bowl buzz lasted much longer than other Super Bowl performances. It really changed things. I actually think it's kind of good she's been off radio for a while... it kind of gives her a different appeal and makes people focus on Joanne as a whole album (sort of like Lemonade?) and then pick their favourites from an entire body of work. Even though charts aren't translating how cool she is and she still isn't as listened to as her contemporaries, there's no doubt that people have increased their respect for her and she's gaining more casual listeners and fans. Hopefully musically she can become an even bigger force than she is now, but atleast she's an immensely respected artist now by many different people.
