Yeah- her promo for MR was the best she's ever done for a single in a really long time. Global (UK/VSFS/Japan even), a ton in US, commercials, a video (even if crappy), and perfect social media push. Rightfully so though, it's the best single potential on the album and she must've known "if this doesn't become a hit, theres no hits on this album."

Agreed - assuming the next single has any level of success, it will owe it all to MR.

I'm hoping with strong callout scores, MR can surprise and make a sudden surge into Top 5 on pop radio. If that happens, they should re-discount it so it goes Top 15 or even Top 10 on iTunes ala IDWLF.

Regardless of where we head from here, to have a 5 month single cycle from a pop star in 2017 is crazy. That's a huge amazing run for Gaga (and it shows that it's already nearing 800K+/is platinum without even hitting 100M AI yet. Nuts!)

I'm still a chartster-in-learning, can someone explain callout scores or point me to an article that explains?

I know everyone wants DIC so I won't cause a big debate around it, but I still stand behind A-YO as being a moderate hit (Top 20 on pop) and that being her only real radio potential left.

I happen to like DIC better for radio but I absolutely love the fun she has when performing A-YO and that translates to sales. So to me either song would be fine as the next single.

Million days of longevity

I hope she's gonna cross 800k this week and 500k pure sales for Joanne too.

Is there anyway to know which stations haven't added MR yet? Maybe we can target them with some requesting

Off topic: A-YO is the better "natural" follow up to MR sound-wise, but DIC is the hit waiting to happen imo.

Interscope put up Million Reasons as a spotlight song on HAC Videos on AllAccess, and they used the audio not the music video :rip: Every other song on there is using their MVs. LMAO

Radio stations randomly call their audience members and ask them which songs they like, which they don't and which are overplayed. All the data is combined into a score and it gives indication of what the next lucrative radio hit is, which songs are dead at delivery and which songs they have commercially exploited to death.

I agree. And, honestly, if whatever comes next flops I'm just happy MR came first because that was the song that NEEDED to be a hit. (She already sabotaged others like DWUW, so I couldnt have that this time again)

The image used in the audio video is more iconic then the music video :ladyhaha:

I agree - imo Interscope is really only looking at 3 potential single choices; A-YO, Joanne or DIC. They're the most obvious. As long as one of those songs is chosen, I'll be one happy monster ;-)
