The problem is Gaga is fighting to not be a product. I don't think she'll do something just to have a hit. In Utopia however, she would release catchy-easy-pop singles and put more mature songs in the rest of the albums. Gaga already set them for literally years. I am going to say this clear because I have studied music legends/icons and what makes them and Gaga is not a music icon/legend yet. To be music legend/icon you need to have hits for at least 30 years (Madonna, MJ, U2, Bruce Springsteen/Paul McCartney). You need to sell out world tours for over 30 years like the ones listed above. and you need to continue to sell albums like the ones I listed above. If in 30 years Gaga can not get a hit, sell albums, or sell out arenas/stadiums, she will not be a legend. Being successful and having an impact for 10 years does not make you a music legend, being successful and having an impact for 30 years does. Just because it's not happening now doesn't mean it never will. Her first single on Joanne flopped and her second one is a ballad that just recently started to get played on the radio. Calm down lol. If she's not interested in it, why should we worry about this? She's perfectly aware of the direction she's taking with her career, and delivering good music while selling well. There's literally no reason to worry, anything could happen to her career (from awesome to devastating) in the next few years. The music scene is not a stable one - streaming didn't even exist until 2013-2014, so nobody knows how it's going to be in 2020.
