Hopefully by then, though, I'm not still working on campaigns. Working on presidential campaigns is a lot of fun, but it's really really hard, long, and thankless work. I dedicated so many nights and weekends working for the Hillary campaign, so I know how emotionally taxing and unrewarding it can be I'd love to get involved with her charity work though, she's such an inspiration. You worked for the Hillary Campaign?!?!? Egypt. W

Surviving childhood poverty, rape, and the death of her son, she went on to become the most respected and successful African American philanthropist and businesswomen in our country's history. She is an American icon and a living historical figure. She is so beloved and respected that her opinions shift public perceptions, which is why The Left has been begging her to run for public office for decades. Clinton was hailed as the most experienced politician to ever run for President, and she lost. Government experience does not always translate to a winning presidential campaign, especially against a candidate like Trump. If you want to advance your political agenda and defeat Trump in 2020 you should be asking yourself who can actually defeat him, not who is most qualified for the job. Nemo 4,410
This is what I would call, fake news. Oprah's basically making a joke, pointing out that, yes, the election of Trump shows that maybe you don't need political experience to get elected President. But... that's all. Then suddenly, everyone (and I'm not picking on people here, I mean this nonsense was on every TV channel yesterday) is acting like she just announced for 2020. But no, she did nothing of the sort. Interestingly, Trump once suggested that he'd like Oprah for a running mate (VP candidate). He really did. But that was back in 2000, when he was considering running as a Reform Party candidate. (There was no indication that he'd talked to her about it, either.)
imnotyourbabe10 6,120
Oprah as president? Agree with the posts in this thread that say we need people with political experience in the White House. (For a meaningful, experienced change, maybe try an Independent or Green Party candidate instead of celebrities and social media personalities?). Although, if it would be Debra Wilson's MadTV Oprah, then my chips are all in!

He is apparently chosen by the government, but the qualities he is required to display are not those of leadership but those of finely judged outrage. For this reason the President is always a controversial choice, always an infuriating but fascinating character. His job is not to wield power but to draw attention away from it. An orange sash is what the President of the Galaxy traditionally wears. Reveal hidden contents On those criteria Zaphod Beeblebrox is one of the most successful Presidents the Galaxy has ever had. He spent two of his ten Presidential years in prison for fraud. Very very few people realize that the President and the Government have virtually no power at all, and of these very few people only six know whence ultimate political power is wielded. Most of the others secretly believe that the ultimate decision-making process is handled by a computer. They couldn't be more wrong." -Douglas Adams, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (emphasis and spoiler mine of course ) Was reminded of this after Trump's election as well. omg this freaking book is haunting me. i NEED to read it. i can only focus on school textbooks ATM I disapprove of what you say, but will defend to the death your right to say it. Good point, If her gender and race matter as to her ability to lead, then no, she wouldn't get that vote regardless... Oprah might make a good leader, I don't believe she could do any worse than Trump either.... The thing that bothers me about a lot of the posts here is the personal attacks tho... Charismatic speeches got Obama elected, as it did Trump more than anything. If Oprah can master the media with moving speeches, then she would have a chance. like a cat in a sil, I observe life, moving and still.
