No, it's + audience for this week's overall (this day is compared to the last tuesday), so more than 5 million people heard it yesterday

I love how you explain it so well, and people still don't get it :toofunny:

Not really :) MR hasn't got out of top 5 in Billboard Digital Songs since the Superbowl and is currently selling more than CTTR (no shade towards Katy) I think the problem is streaming and now that radios play her more MR might increase its streams.

MR has great sales though

as in at the same time, so it gets a better peak. radio should've been on board 3 months ago

I am saying the same though. Right now that MR is raising on the radio it's #6 on iTunes (and will be #4 in a few hours). Her only problem is her horrible streaming numbers

You are not saying the same because though it's still doing well on iTunes (thanks discount) it has already reached its peak of #1 but it hasn't reached its peak on radio. Also it won't be #4 cos Zedd's new song is coming. You're damn right about the horrible streaming though

The thing is that the #1 spot that it hit (twice I think) was never a stable thing,it only happened because of big performances and lasted for a few days (carpool, superbowl). Now it's stable in a higher spot than it's EVER been before, especially without getting any promo. Obviously the discount is helping with that but I wouldn't blame it on that. There are many songs that have been discounted and still flopped.. Yeah I just saw that Zedd's song is selling almost the same as MR but MR gets many positive updates too so I am not sure if Zedd will pass her. Yeah the streaming is just sad

That's true. It's probably this high now because of all that previous exposure plus new found radio audience. So if this is where it's sustained now it would've been good to have those performance boosts to be at #1 longer and thus secure a better peak - I think that's what @Sexxx is saying. And he's right, although MR is now doing better than we probably could've hoped for realistically.

I wouldn't blame it on the discount entirely, people obviously like the song - we can see that from the reaction whenever it is performed. It's legitimately a hit record and it only needed to be forced on people with so many promo slots because radio wouldn't play it, but I guess they finally woke up. But at this point I still think we'd see a significant drop if the discount was removed.

I think that Perfect Illusion being a commercial disaster has to do with the radio not playing MR initially

Does 35,6m Audio mean that today 35,6m people listened to the song on the radio?

No. The chart goes back 7 days

thats why most lead singles get a big drop on the 8th day. Cause the first day high spins are no longer on the chart

But why it's falling on Billboard?

The sales effect of SB and to an extend streaming wore off...

DW if it keeps growing on radio like this... it will impact streaming and hopefully sales will at least hold decently

It should start climbing again tho im not sure about how high it will peak

why cant radio and sales work together at the same time :emma:

This! Wed get a high peak

But this is also why basing the success off of how high a song peaks on charts can be misleading

The peak Rank is based on combined success of radio, sales and streaming in a single week relative to other singles

It does not tell you the total success of a single. I tell ppl this over and Over
