Gaga and Haus Should not Design the Stage

I mean simple by Gaga standards. I don't think of her doing something bland, but the music isn't super theatrical on Joanne, so I would imagine the stage being a happy medium. Something similar to the setup she had on SNL, but scaled larger.

If you said that to me after Million Reasons music video, I'd say, yeah you probably right.

but, after Super Bowl and John Wayne music video, I'm not so sure the stage will be too simple

I'm still hoping for something awesome tho, but first hope she will come to Asia

This is MDNA Tour's last performance shot from high up in a stadium show.

This is a video of BTW Ball shot from high up in stadium. Born this way castle is just a static building with lights, it does not change or entertain visually, if you're far there is literally no difference between lights on a black curtain or castle.

I went to both tours. Front row, so I cant comment on the experience from the back. But I would take Gaga's creativity and soul over some lights any day. I'm still more entertained by personality, live vocals, and the concepts.

also I think Tait Towers have designed all of Gaga's stages since 2009. There really is no "Haus of Gaga," she commissions professionals to do her work lol

Just for one song. The rest of the show it is all the same... it gets boring viasually, imo!

I see your point when it comes to the castle but remember that it's her that moves around and changes props so much. Plus the lighting is incredible

The Unicorn, the table, the birth, the motorcycle, the piano, the wardrobe, the egg, the lights structure, the manifesto... so much going on

Plus she uses the whole castle and catwalks. It's much more theatrical than a Beyonce or Madonna type of concert, which personally I prefer. her theatrical background is very unique.  About the artrave, idk if you've been but its far from boring, but the best part of the props is the lighting.

I'll mop you all across the floor, snatch your fυckιng weave out Βitch

She should try to work with more professionals tbh, the entire Joanne era was designed by the Haus and it was meh, she worked with a professional on the John Wayne video and it's the best thing of this era...

The Monster Ball stage set is not better than the BTWBall or artRave. But I agree with you that it was more interactive. The concert had a better storyline and of course, a professionally directed DVD that made it all look awesome.

but the artRave remains my favorite.

Well, I agree with both sides. On one hand, Lady Gaga doesn't need so much lights and exaggerated effects like for example Madonna on her MDNA tour. Lady Gaga is a performer with a great voice. This is what counts. She is the show and not the stage or some lights. She's like the rockstar of the popstars. I usually listen to rock and hardrock (Rammstein, Muse and AC/DC for example) but I'm also a fan of Lady Gaga. Well, on the other hand I would also welcome a little change for the next tour. As mentioned before, it doesn't have to be the biggest stage ever or a tornado of lights. More important is that the lights and effects fit perfectly to the music. Rammstein are a masterpiece when it comes to liveshow. Maybe a lot of you don't like or don't know their music but the way how they combine their music with lights, effects, stage actions, pyros and other stuff is just amazing. It's like an action movie live on stage. Their stages always look a bit industrial.

If I would be the director/designer of the Joanne world tour stage I would split the show into two respectively three parts:

1. The dance and pop hits including a lot of lights and other effects. Gaga wearing some different outfits as we know from her.

2. The Joanne hits and other songs who fit to the most Joanne songs like "Yoü And I" for example. The stage turns into a stage with less glitter and lights. It could be something like a musical stage which looks like a huge motel or bar. While thinking that I see a big "Gaga Motel" neon display. Also a bit western style (cactus, black and white screenings) would fit perfectly to songs like "Sinner's Prayer". I guess Prince once had a similar stage. She could also include experiences and inspirations from the "American Horrorstory" into the show.

3. Encore with 2-3 of her common top singles like "Pokerface". The stage turns back into the bigger stage as on the first part of the concert.

Sorry guys but those are just my thoughts. I would welcome something like that. Let's see what we will get! :)

I'll agree be that the castle was static. But she wanted it that way, it was homage to Madonna's 90's tours, and a less digital time. The vibe of the show and the way she utilized props fits perfectly with the music. Also lighting during Scheiße was lit AF.

But DO NOT come for the ArtRave. That was the most psychedelic, interactive, space age sensory overloaded experience of my life. The lucite stages, the confetti, the piano area, the videos, the colors. Perfection. And tbh I'll never forget being high and being SHOOK by the insane lighting during Swine.

I agree with this to an extent, maybe, but I've always thought her stages and her sets were COOL. I was on the floor directly under the right hand cat walk for artRAVE and thought that stage was AMAZING cuz of the extensions and Gaga's accessibility to a large number of us.

I can sort of get why some people weren't too too impressed with the BTW Ball stage, but she was telling a story that takes place in that same setting and wasn't like the Monster Ball in which there were actual scene changes. That castle SLAYED though and those videos of her riding into the castle during "Highway Unicorn" (one of my most favorite deep cuts from Born This Way) always SHOOK ME

She needs to work with Stufish Architects for the design of the stage again (they did BTWB). The designs they do are amazing (U2 360, MDNA Tour, Vertigo Tour Stage, Where We Are Tour)

Tbh the Formation Tour stage was one of the most effective and simple stages I've seen in recent history. The screen was GIANT and rotated - it was ****ing insane to see live.
