I Waited 9 Years To See Lady Gaga In Concert (share your stories)

Featured Posts

This is my first thread! (and I have been waiting to make it as soon as I had a good reason & this is a personal thread. sorry for the diatribe!) AND I'M SO EXCITED ITS ABOUT ME FINALLY GOING TO SEE HER IN CONCERT!!
I usually have really good luck with getting to see bands & artists (and getting to meet them), but every time over the past (almost) decade (!!!!) it never worked out for me to go to see her. I have been a Little Monster since 2008. I think that LG was doing some promotional performances outside of radio stations for The Fame. Someone recorded her at this little keyboard & like one spider amp. She had a white suit on and a short white wig with severe bangs. It was a song I only heard her perform that one time and anyway she put her heel up on that keyboard & i was sold. Also her vocals in that little performance were so raw and scratchy and such a different style of playing UGH!
I had a huge internal battle in high school with coming out as pansexual. I wasn't okay with who I was until Born This Way came out when I was 21. I remember when the song dropped at midnight & I had stayed up to listen to it (I usually wait until the full album comes out). I ****ing cried when I heard it. LG & I went through manic/mental illness periods at the same time. Because of ARTPOP..because she went through so much **** at the same time as me..I felt an even deeper connection to her (that i am still learning to understand bc she and i have different mental problems). Besides Carrie Fischer..Stefani is the only person who has made me feel normal or that it is okay to be mentally ill and functioning. Watching Lady Gaga get better, get the right diagnosis, made me want to stay on medication for my Bipolar disease. Watching LG get better made me find ways to cope with my depression & anxiety. Her music grounds me & inspires my creativity. I really do feel like she speaks directly into my soul with her music, whatever genre it may be at that time.

I have never been a fan of something and felt so connected to so many other random people before. I really enjoy being here & wanted you guys to be the first to know when I got the tickets for the Joanne Tour. Before I signed up on this site I used to just read the articles, but I signed up after Joanne dropped. I think that its really great that we're all very different and most of the time can have diverse, intellectual conversations on a wide range of topics. But my favorite thing would have to be the dry, sassy, not-so-heterosexual humor that is prevalent here.

I felt like if anyone were to understand how excited I am and how much this deeply means to me, it would be you guys!  I never really had real friends before, but I met my best friend 5 years ago. Shortly after that we met our other friend at a job we all had together.  I don't have a lot of money, i'm actually considered poor by the government...but I don't have what they need from me to get food stamps or disability. I had no idea my friends actually understood how much Lady Gaga means to me. So when the tour was announced I begged my mom to take me & she said she would see what she could do. Then my best friend told me she and our other friend were going. and I was all "oh..thats great..i hope y'all have the best time. my mom is going to try and get tickets but it probably won't work out. this never works out for me." and then boom! my friends were all "no buddh1sm we are taking you. we are going to buy your ticket. you're going to ****ing see her." and every time i tell them how much this means to me, how thankful i am, i just start bawling. You guys I have waited NINE YEARS for this.

So if you've made it this far with reading, thank you!!! and please, leave your Lady Gaga concert experiences in the thread! I want to hear everyones stories!!

BTWBall I was last row because I was 12 and my parents would'nt allow me to go earlier for better places, artRAVE I was FRONT ROW and it was AMAZING (the best night of my life!) and now with the Joanne Tour I have seats for the first time, because standing outside all day makes me very tired and I want to be able to enjoy the concert more.

I wanted to go to the Monster Ball so bad but I didn't have friends (still don't :ladyhaha:), my parents would never go and I was young. Plus I tore my ACL and was on crutches and was self conscious about it.

I had this dream that I was trying to get to the venue for Gaga but I had to go through obstacle after obstacle and for some reason everyone else was walking along side me just fine and passing me as I struggled. By the time I got through it all and made it to the venue the show was over for an hour already and nobody was there.

I vowed to never miss another show and to travel if it wasn't in my state.

EDIT: I understand completely how you feel about connecting with her. I had pretty severe depression for awhile and thought if anyone understood it'd be Gaga since she was going through it too. Her dark imagery helped me embrace the darkness I felt I was living in but make it beautiful. I'd sleep all the time in order to not be awake and dealing with depression and had 0 appetite so I wasn't eating. But when I was awake, I was in GGD. People are hilarious here and always made me smile. Talking about Gaga made me forget about the things that would put me down

Once, I had a dream me and my friend couldn't afford to buy tickets to her show, so we just went and stood outside trying to see bits of the show through a glass door that was the entrance to the venue. But then the 'little monsters' inside spotted us and threw a brick through the glass door at us, so we ran for our lives :toofunny:

As dorthy from wizard of oz once said "there's no place like home". There's nothing that compares to being surrounded by fellow monsters. I get quite offended when people call us a fanbase. We're NOT a fanbase. We've been through too much together to be a fanbase. Monsters are family

I love you monsters. I'd be unfixably broken without you

A cousin from Pittsburgh had tickets to BTW Ball.  I had only recently become a Gaga fan, and thought that I would look ridiculous at the concert because I am much older than most fans, so I turned the opportunity down.  Later I found that Gaga has many older fans, so I attended artRAVE, C2C, and have tickets to Joanne.   Still kicking myself for not attending BTW.

I live outside the space time continuum.

I love this!!! I was not allowed to go to concerts during The Fame-Born this Way. When I was finally able to she never brought the artRave to my city! I really hope I get tickets to the Joanne tour!
