Judas was a disastrous choice, almost trolling radio and making them deal with the backlash from listeners when they played it. And then You & I was a decent choice but hard to digest for big stations that needed a safe choice from her after Judas fiasco earlier that year.. Then we go into DWUW getting radio support just for Gaga to let it die without a video, GUY which was just a horrible decision to send to pop/sounded dated and like nothing that was selling, and TIHTY... Don't even need to explain that. PI was loud but a more forgivable mistake on its own, but it's not forgivable because they've already made so many mistakes before. MR should've been the obvious lead single. I don't know how that was missed. Fans get upset with radio but should keep in mind they handed her nonstop number one hits, until her single choices became bewildering to say the least. Americano 31,061 Posted February 21, 2017 Share Posted February 21, 2017 That's why I'd argue her struggle to get radio to really pick up MR quickly (even as they slowly warm up now) is less of a result of PI and is instead caused by multiple years of almost intolerable single choices in the eyes of radio.
