The unfair treatment in the music industry-Gaga related

Many of my friends that I have made on this site realize I am quite a fan of Katy Perry and I've always enjoyed her music and persona. Nevertheless, I have been the biggest fan of Gaga ever since 2010 and I am so grateful to have been part of the Monster community.

But I need to confess that it bugs me a great deal witnessing how unfairly radio stations and streaming services have been treating Gaga in comparison with Katy.

The very first example is Perfect Illusion which sold around 100 k (digital copies) in the first sales week, which is terrific and not many pop stars acomplished that in 2016. Despite the potential the single had , radio stations dropped the single simply paying dust to Gaga. Now "Chained To The Rhythm" is not doing well (underperforming) on  Itunes and it has not even topped the aforementioned list, yet radio stations seem to be spinning her latest track like crazy.

According to Daily US Radio Updates "Chained To The Rhythm" has already garnered 2059 spins having attracted 18.831 people, whereas Million Reason(the song that has topped the Itunes chart several times) has been out for many weeks and so far it's received 2197 spins and the audience of 8.144.

Just saying it is devastating to see how unfairly it looks and I am not trying to pit two women against each other. I wish to point how biased and manipulated radio stations and streaming services are in a way. Katy is not doing that well at all (the same happened with Rise in summer, Birthday and This Is How We Do), but radio stations are licking her boots no matter what. Million Reasons is loved by a massive group of people ,yet they don't plan to give Gaga a chance.

Thank you Gaga for staying true to yourself and your art!!! I am in awe of your prudence, determination and perseverance. You are already a legend to me and many people out there. Keep on slaying!!!

You are going to get a thousand replies saying Katy uses payola from people that don't even know what payola means

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

I don't know whether she used payola, but I know for a fact that no matter what she puts out there, it gets a huge airplay

Allegedly paying for your songs to be played on the radio

but hey, guess what?

That's how radio works :) No radio stations add songs for free :)

It is all about connections when it comes to choosing which songs are to be spinned on the radio, which is sad,but it appears peculiar (to say the least) that ever singe Gaga severed ties with Troy Carter, radio stations has not been giving her that much attention.

Maybe overexposing Gaga on the radio till people puke when they listen to her isn't a part of Bobby's plan

The thing is they hardly play Gaga's songs (let alone her latest ones) so I should think she is far away from being overexposed on the radio ;)

Toronto93 confirmed themselves that Dark Horse's success was just the result of payola LOL this nonsense regarding to radios and CTTR is to be expected from an artistic integrity-free artist like Katherine :nails:
