The beginning had me SHOOK when her Joanne persona appeared before her John Wayne persona came racing by. The ending clearly alludes to the end of this set of videos (but possibly setting something up in the future?). But, and this may be a reach, this may be the finale of the Paparazzi/Telephone duo that was "to be continued." I know that we need to get over this but they all have the same director ( Jonas Åkerlund) and all have the same campy style. All three feature Gaga murdering one or more people. But this time, it says "the end." Maybe Gaga wanted closure for the fanbase about Telephone? There's no clear story bridge between Telephone and John Wayne but that's what I immediately thought of. The way this starts, is that Joanne Gaga and John Wayne Gaga are two separate entities. I think this was a way to tie them both in together, and also get that closure for telephone.
