Here are some of the reactions from Metallica fans (taken from Metallica's forum) to Gaga performing with Metallica at the Grammys:

-I'm not opposed. Hope it works well.

-Like I said in the other thread... I'm not even a Gaga fan and I approve. I'm glad they do things like this and it might end up being cool. If it sucks, whatever. It's a one-time thing.

-Indifferent. Depending on what song they do and how it works out it can either be pretty decent or horrible. At least she can play the piano and have a good voice. So I feel it is a bit to harsh to disapprove just because she is Lady Gaga when we don't know anything else.

-I didn't like her medley of Bowie last year, I don't know what this is going to be.

-I'm hopeful and looking forward to it. Lady Gaga, as others pointed out in the other thread, is very respectable as an artist. I don't listen to her all that much, so I wouldn't consider myself a "fan" of hers necessarily, but she does have a lot of talent

-It will be interesting to see to say the least.

-I am only interested in the Grammy's because of this.More I think about it, I am picturing Halo on Fire sung by Gaga. Showcases new album, show cases Metallica's softer side, which will win over more fans. Then flip to a hard edge, metal sound for Poker Face.

-I knew she was/is a Metallica fan but I never saw this coming. I just hope the band don't try the Ziggy Stardust look, it just won't work for them.

-Bringing in such a talented artist to perform with them should be very interesting and fun to see.

Ngl I still get the feeling that a large number of Metallica fans still don't like GAGA and would rather her not collaborate with them. Before the HTS, a large number of the Trumpanzees and non pop fans were pissed that GAGA got the gig and not Metallica, judging from comments on Facebook and other articles. Hopefully the HTS converted some of them.

80% of a poll in metallica's forum approved of her. So I am not sure what you are saying is true.

I like to think that the Metallica fans are like 'Lol, I bet the Gaga fans hate this" we're like "Lol, I bet the Metallica fans hate this" but lowkey we are both excited for their performance together :laughga:

Any Metallica fans hating on Gaga are just as bad as Gaga fans hating on Metallica. They barely know anything about each other's artistry. And it's just one performance like, please...

I wonder if they know a bunch of Gaga fans are lurking their forum :giggle:. They're reactions are pretty positive, I know a lot of rock fans have respect for Gaga. :whitney:

Many respectable rock stars and bands have spoken praise in Gaga's favor, so it's not too much of a stretch that she performs with a few here and there and I have to admit, out of all of the mainstream girls that it could be, most would find Lady Gaga to be the supreme choice if this kind of set has to be, so I don't think many want to complain, it could have been much worse AND it's The Grammy's, where these kinds of pairings happen.

I can't wait. I love both.

The future's uncertain and the end is always near.

People, even outside her fanbase, are aware she's talented! It's a wonderful thing to see her get the recognition she deserves

I'm sure Metallica fans would be less ok with just some basic pop star with no vocal talent performing with their favorite band!
