En_Sabah_Nur 9,359
So everyone online (The GP) are praising the fact that she did not display or do anything overtly political in tonight's halftime show! What do you guys think?! Do you think she should have, or do you think *the show* was good/great exactly how it was...!??? Egypt. W
Gagz 2,579
She sang This Land Is Your Land, which I imagine was a direct response to the immigration ban.
Lextyr97 19,885
I think she was flawless. The American flag. The American song in the beginning. The bald eagle during million reasons. It was flawless. No complaints AT. ALL. Except for the TEOG dodge 🙄
Bio 23,538
She did go political. Most republicans are too dumb to see tho
Bebe 17,093
It was political throughout, from singing 'This Land Is Your Land' at the start (fun fact: The original lyrics to that song are "There was a big high wall there that tried to stop me. The sign was painted, said 'Private Property.' But on the backside, it didn't say nothing. This land was made for you and me.") To putting on the most queer halftime show we have ever had, to singing Born This Way (that's inherently political). It was pretty political - I'm surprised that all these Republicans haven't realised it

She said before the concert she wanted it to be inclusive, for everyone to enjoy. On a side note, I've been to a great many country concerts in many places over the years, and I noticed they all had at least one patriotic song and at least one gospel song. For a long time I thought, oh here comes the obligatory patriotic song, or here comes the obligatory gospel song. Finally I realized those songs were not obligatory, they are part of the culture from where country music is rooted. It's natural, not obligatory. Gaga is patriotic, and doesn't need a political reason to sing patriotic songs. But people reach for any reason to find negative things to say about Gaga. Anything can be spun to mean more than the person intended. I live outside the space time continuum.
