I agree to an extent, but performance--any performance--should at least have SOME relevance to the real world. Art is about taking current events, representing/interpreting them, and reflecting it back to the world. This is an extremely subtle and tasteful way of doing so. Just like you don't say "colored people," you say "people of color."
