The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff is the highest position in the armed forces, the position exists almost solely to counsel the President and the National Security Council. The Director of National Intelligence is the Intelligent Community's equivalent of the Chairman and is reported to by all 17 intelligence agencies.

Removing these two people from the National Security Council and replacing them with an inexperienced, untrustworthy, dangerous neo-nazi, Steve Bannon, is a move that makes zero sense...unless you are trying to **** over the US and/or our allies. This is a move to control the IC, something that would normally not even be attempted by a President. 

It's downright horrifying and I'm not sure who can or will step in to stop it, tbh.

This is such a complicated web to untangle and I can't quite get my head around it all. There's simply too much I don't know.

1st thing is that Bannon's position circumvented Senate approval.

Since its inception under Harry S. Truman, the function of the Council has been to advise and assist the president on national security and foreign policies. To remove the military and intelligence advisors from meetings sounds in opposition to the functions laid out and like you're trying to hide stuff from them.

2nd Rex Tillerson aka Putin's buddy who was awarded the Order of Friendship which is "one of the highest honors Russia gives to foreign citizens" is nominated to be the new Secretary of State.

Also making news was that 4 top State Department diplomats left the State Department.

The Washington Post’s Josh Rogin reported that the State Department’s top management officials—veteran Foreign Service officers vital for providing continuity and institutional memory to a new secretary of state and his aides—resigned en masse.

A former senior State Department official told me Thursday morning that, on Jan. 19, the day before Trump’s inauguration (which was also the day he resigned), a member of the incoming president’s transition team told the management officials to leave within 24 hours. “But then,” the former official said, “it seemed common sense had prevailed, and the Trump folks realized they would need people to actually run the institution. So I assumed they were staying for at least a while.”

The officials who left Wednesday are the people who run the machinery of foreign policy through successive administrations, Republican and Democratic. The highest-ranking among them, Patrick Kennedy, had been the undersecretary of state for management for nine years and, by many accounts, was angling to keep that job in the new administration—until he suddenly left, for still-unknown reasons, taking with him Assistant Secretary of State for Administration Joyce Anne Barr, Assistant Secretary of State for Consular Affairs Michele Bond, and the director of the Office of Foreign Missions, Gentry O. Smith.

And per Executive Orders from Trump there's a government hiring freeze so that would mean no one could fill these positions and you have Tillerson who has no experience up to run the State Department. WTF????

3rd sounds like Breitbart now has access to national security secrets. I think Bannon could use some event that "threatens national security" as a perfect excuse to clamp down on "unauthorized speech." Remember his mainstream media's "the opposition party.” Idk if he could enact martial law or have Trump do it. Remember how there's supposed to be an investigation into Trump and his peoples' links to Russia? That sounds like it could disappear if it hasn't already. I don't even know what else but at the heart you've got a ton of people being put in place that have no experience and then shady af people taking over. If you remove the smart, career guys and replace them with inexperienced/no experience people it does 3 things: creates confusion, destabilizes and lets you get stuff past them. And no one is stopping these people. No one is stopping any of this.

Trump has massively destabilized the world in the 1st week. He's pissed off China, Mexico, Iran, Iraq, the list goes on. Add US citizens. He keeps going on about how we should've taken Iraq's oil which by the way is a war crime. He brought it up on the 25th in his ABC News interview.

“We should have taken the oil.” Asked about the “maybe we’ll have another chance” comment, Trump added, “[W]e’ll see what happens. I mean, we’re gonna see what happens. You know, I told you and I told everybody else that wants to talk, when it comes to the military, I don’t wanna discuss things. I wanna let the action take place before the talk takes place.”

This all sounds so bad!! My serious concern is that people are talking about how long we'll have Trump for - 4 years, 8 years, impeached, so less - but I'm seriously starting to think that stuff is happening to keep him there indefinitely or until someone else can take over for him but creating a total dictatorship. Or WWIII. Or both.
