Like I thought he was so humble but this interview just seems so pig headed? I'm honestly shocked

Why is he acting like JB isn't bigger than him?  I like some of his songs but I hate artists that make a competition out of music. He's dead to me now :madge:

His style of playing love songs with nothing but an acoustic guitar is nothing new. He likely became massively inspired by Jason Mraz and Damien Rice who came out a few years before him. Ed just reminds me of one of those guys at a party who tries to get girls by strumming a generic love song on the guitar in the corner of the room. And nobody likes that guy. But certainly a lot of girls seem to like guys like this. I'm one of the few who doesn't. Probably because so many of them want to come across humble but when you get to know them, they're nothing but jackasses. No doubt because they get so many female hangers on telling them how talented they are just because they can play a few simple chords and tell a love story that's been told a dozen times over.

I can't believe he says that Adele's the only one who's sold more albums than him in the last decade. A few questions ago, he was talking about his friendship with Taylor Swift! She's sold more than him! I think Beyonce's sold more. Gaga's definitely sold more. So has Katy. Seriously, where did he get this statistic from? It reminds me of Sam Smith saying that he was the first gay man to win an Oscar and the ensuing facepalming that followed because he clearly didn't do his research. This quote's going to come back to haunt him.

Sure, he says it's taken out of context but I don't really know what context it could be taken out of. He simply said some stuff that showed his ego's getting out of control and was surprised when no one liked it.

I'm sorry but how was Taylor "unpopular" in school... I don't buy it

I think he means in the music industry and how the public viewed them. When Taylor started out, she was a clean cut country girl. She got the country market on board but people outside this fanbase thought she was corny and prudish (after all, this is when risque urban music was ruling the charts). She was still largely considered uncool by many until she went more pop with Red. Then she put out 1989 and had a new stylish image and boom! she's like Cady Heron when she becomes a Plastic. It still baffles me how so many people accept Taylor now and think she's cool because she was considered the height of uncool once upon a time and when that's your reputation, you rarely shake it off. See what I did there? ;)

Thread title : Ed Sheeran: "Everyone Copies Every Single Thing I've Done"

What article says : "I’m very happy for everyone to be in the same race as me, even if they copy every single thing I’ve done."

He doesn't say everyone copies him, he says he doesnt mind if people do copy him.

This. But people don't take time to read the article and drag him for no reason

I never liked his music  but he i thought he was a nice person, now with the "everyone wants to copy me" i do not think he is so nice as i believed.

At least he has talent, knows how to write good lyrics, has a good voice and play instrument, not just like others "DJs" who pretended to be singers and said something similar the last year.

I've always seen him as this super humble down to earth person, but this statement of him is just too egocentric chart-obsessed-maniac, what a turn off, you're not even close to Adele or T-Swizzle, sit the fk down musical mathematician wannabee:interestinga:

What the ****... I used to think he was a nice and humble guy, I even used to defend him on this forum without even liking his music. What's up with that ego? You only have 2 albums out, calm down Beyoncé :rip:
