BuzzcutSeason 3,307
I dislike the fact she seems to focus on being different more than making good music. I mean part of me thinks its genuine but another part of me doesn't see how her obsession with her "Aunt Joanne" make sense at all. She said that she really never made music that was "trendy" but its like okay it can still be pop and be different. This was also my main problem with ARTPOP, but i feel like its just disguised more. Just listening to her discography though, its crazy to see all thats happened. Also, don't drag me. I'm very much a fan (especially of her earlier work) i'm just hoping the super bowl makes me a bigger fan again of her.
bujibu 462
I think her next album is going to be completely different. Everyone wants that Fame Monster, BTW style music but I don't think we'll ever see that again. If anything it's shown that Gaga really doesn't give a damn about modern music trends (which is great to see in an artist). On the contrary I feel like what made her first two albums great was she allowed more collaborative guidance, direction from producers and management ewhereas with ARTPOP forward it seems like she's making most of the creative decisions and the lyrics have generally slipped in quality (she still has some lyrics, just overall progression). Going forward I hope she does something more rock oriented (Bruce Springsteen, Queen style). I could even see her next album being strictly piano ballads (which would be great and interesting to see). As much as I want her old style back it seems she's happier carving her own path forward, and I'd rather her be a happy artist than just pumping out the same album up to 13 times in a row and going through the motions. I think she's set on proving she's a dynamic artist, and shifting genres every new album is her way of trying to prove that. Like she's COMING for that multi-talented crown. Honestly I hope LG6 is an arena rock album or a well thought out, crafted piano ballad album with different assortments. .....watch LG6 end up being Gospel. Miky 9,487
Hopefully something COMPLETELY different. Too many people here with moral superiority complex.
Miel 15,009
I've more respect of her as a musician (vocalist, pianist, writer, performer) than ever. But, I've been kind of disinterested in her, at least aesthetically and, in that vein, artistically. Fashion and visuals used to be such a pivotal part of the whole Gaga experience, and I feel like she had really let that go for Joanne. Where she has excelled in musicianship, she lacked in aesthetics. 3 points in and ready for more

RAMROD 109,385
I love her showing everyone the artist that she is and taking the risk with every new album she released. And Joanne probably her riskiest yet, as it is more toned down, probably illustrates the kind of emotional state she was at the time she records those songs. And as unpopular as it is to her pop craving fans, she also getting new listeners for it. As always, two sides of every stories. I hope she continue in being courageous and delved in many genres, it is exciting to see how far she can push herself and not letting herself to be put in one box
