Coop 15,354
Shia LaBeouf was arrested in New York City early Thursday morning and charged with misdemeanor assault after getting into an altercation with another man at an anti-Donald Trump performance art protest he's been livestreaming since Inauguration Day, the NYPD said. Police tell ABC News that around 12:35 a.m., LaBeouf, 30, engaged in a verbal dispute with the man, a 25-year-old resident of the Bronx. LaBeouf proceeded to pull the scarf of the other man, scratching his face while doing so. The actor also pushed the man, police said. ---- After police arrived, LaBeouf was taken into custody. He was charged and received a a desk appearance ticket for court at a later date. http://abcnews.go.com/US/shia-labeouf-arrested-charged-assault-nyc-anti-trump/story?id=45057961
SamJ 8,008
He should know better, there's no point getting aggressive with just a random guy about politics its going to achieve nothing. These protests are meant to be peaceful; especially because these anti trump campaigns are trying to achieve and reclaim peace, well thats what I thought anyway, with all the "love trumps hate" slogans. I just find it hypocritical of Shia; what right does he have to try and influence politics if he is willing to upset an innocent person over it and become aggressive with him. monsterdino 31,997
If some person did the same thing to a gay person what Shia LaBeouf did, surely he wouldn't be arrested. The guy who Shia "assulted" totally deserved it.

Shia's behaviour was totally appropriate.

If he would've done that, it would be like he is normalising that the person is a nazi or that is totally okay that the person is nazi. This is already starting happening in the US with racist and homophobic people when Trump won the election. This is not the time when we walk away from things like this. Well this nazi guy got what he wanted he is probably celebrating now that Shia has got him some recognition, Shia has got into trouble and his aggression might negatively impact his career? Who knows. But the nazi guy has got off the hook. Its achieved nothing.
