Trump can ban everything he wants but sadly -for him-, the rest of the world doesn't agree with his, let's say 'weird way to make things'

'Up to 20 countries have indicated support for the Netherlands' plan to set up an international safe abortion fund to plug a $600m funding gap caused by Donald Trump's reinstatement of the "Global gag rule", the Dutch international development minister, Lilianne Ploumen, said on Wednesday.

The "Global gag rule", also known as the Mexico City policy, was reimposed by Trump on Monday, and bans US federal funding for NGOs in foreign countries that provide abortion services or abortion advocacy.

She said the aim would be to continue support for existing programmes being run by organisations such as the United Nations Population Fund, the International Planned Parenting Federation and Marie Stopes International.'

Do you think that Geert Wilders (who is currently leading almost all the Dutch polls) will allow this?  I don't think so. There is a huge possibility that he will be able to form a coalition and become a new PM.

Yeah but even European nations are slowly turning conservative. Sure it is  more open to certain things but expect hate to trump love soon enough in Europe as well.

'Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. Weak men create hard times.'

Even Latin America with its poverty is slowly turning conservative too. One of the biggest candidates in Brazil for example, says in National TV things like 'If I see two men kissing I'd beat them'

It's a sad time to be honest. It's like everything is regressing. I guess the world does not work in a linear fashion...everything seems to be cyclical. :(

Geert Wilders never spoke about abortion or being pro life. He doesn't even practice any religion. So yes he has a few touch points with Trump but not the one you stated above. PS not a Wilders/Trump lover.

well tbh I agree that the us shouldn't have to fund for education and abortion treatment around the world. He is the US president and it shouldn't be their or his problem.

Geert Wilders never said he is against abortion tho. Thereby: Yes Geert Wilders is leading the polls, but even if he wins he would have a hard time forming a coalition since almost every other party has already said they won't participate in such a coalition and I'm strongly inclined to make sure they keep their word.

On topic. It's a great plan. I hope that the Trump precidency incouriges Europe to be less dependant on the US. At least we would get something positive out of this mess

1. Geert Wilders is pro-choice. The Netherlands is still one of the most liberal countries in the world and 92% of Wilders' supporters are in favour of gay marriage.

2. Geert Wilders is at 20% in the polls. Polls here are known to overestimate his voting share because his supporters don't vote.

3. All major parties besides the old people's party have excluded the possibility of a coalition with Wilders. These major parties are good for 75% of support in the polls. There is NO WAY Wilders will become prime minister.

4. This initiative is led by the Netherlands but this country will only contribute a small part, it's a collaboration. If the Netherlands were to stop, other countries would pick it up.
