I certainly think some of her views on older things and performances and even her art would change, but I do think her fundamental appreciation of "absurd" or "crazy" art that catapulted her career is still there. I get why it's so stripped back and why she chose to focus on the particular sound and image during the Joanne era, but I don't think it warrants an idea that she's over her past work (not that you believe that either. I'm just using that as an example). But ultimately I think with age and experience some of her views would be slightly different.

I think you're totally right, to be honest. Her views have changed (or even just shifted to new spaces) as a result of the voice she has been given in this world. I think - right now at least - it is more important for her to be a messenger of equality, peace ect. than it is for her to make avant-garde statements.

I hope you're right that she does still appreciate the absurd and crazy. Deep down, I think I agree that she does... it's just slightly blurred this time round. It's still there I think.

I am sure she will return one day to being more artsy. I suppose in the world's current state, she feels a responsibility to coherently, not chaotically, use her platform for good.

my baby :diane:she has grown so much...

I consider myself a Joanne stan because I love this new toned down version of her BUT I admit that it's so annoying to hear her kinda say "this is the real me, I'm a normal woman" when she actually became famous by encouraging us to be different and to celebrate our weirdness. It almost seems that "Joanne" the persona is the "fakest Gaga" and I'm actually questioning now if 2009-2013 Gaga was even real or just "a character" or "a phase" that wasn't actually close at all to the real artist underneath...

I love Gaga with all my heart but she is so hard to understand :saladga:

here's an essay on WHY her not dressing weird is a sign that she's depressed, bipolar, hates her fans and doesn't care about her career anymore! oh and the epione. i miss her old face :((

She has always been the person she is today.  In interviews in the early eras she said the reason for her persona, costumes, and performance art was to help her fans free themselves, and if they were made to feel like freaks she wanted them to see the "freak in me" so they won't feel alone.  CrazyGa was one of the ways she helped people.  But it was a stage persona, which she felt she had to play all the time for her fans.  She's 30 years old now.  She should be allowed be herself for a change.

Check out 2:36 into this Ellen interview:

It was also mentioned with different words in an Opera interview.

I wonder what the Gaga of today would think watching this back. :laughga:

I often worry that she's embarrassed or ashamed of some of the stuff she did before... which makes me really sad. I hope she would still stand by everything, but her outlook has definitely changed.

She wouldn't be embarrassed because it was part of who she is. Every era has told bits and pieces of who she is. She's still passionate about art because the crazy quirky artist is who she is at her very core. If you bake a chocolate cake and put vanilla frosting on it, it becomes a chocolate cake with vanilla frosting. It's still a chocolate cake at its very core regardless of what type of frosting you put on it.

Gaga will always be quirky. The crazy quirky artist is who she is at her very core. A green chameleon will always be  gree chameleon no matter how many times it changes its colors

Even if it looks messy or whatever why did she laugh?

I was shocked tbh...

:(

Am I the only one that saw it as her laughing at the contrast between the two album promos and messages.? Not in a mean way just how you do chuckle at change. Like literally dive bar tour vs flying dress. They couldnt be more different. She literally just chuckled for a second and people are acting like she actually said something bad about it.

Do you mean artistic and creative Gaga? I don't see why she wouldn't go back to it. Like you said she needed this album, and it wouldn't exactly match this era.
