n0ne 13,105
I thought it'd be cool to have thread where we posted about music that isn't known on GGD or is rarely talked about on this site. So if you have Artists, songs, albums, etc that you love or enjoy and they fall into either of those categories, feel free to recommend and discuss them below. Post as often as you want. Hopefully this turns into a diverse platform for users to discover new music and give it more recognition. I'll start with a few; Young the Giant: 1 of my favorite bands. They're an Indie/Alternative Rock band best known for their singles My Body, Cough Syrup, and Apartment from their self-titled debut album. All their albums are amazing. But imo their 3rd album, Home of the Strange, is their greatest work and 1 of the best albums of 2016. It had greats visual to match; here they are: Spoiler Doesn't have a video, but 1 of my favorite songs off album; Bad Suns: Another fav of mine. They're Indie Dance/Pop Rock Band best known for their singles Salt and Cardiac Arrest from their debut album, Language & Perspective. Their music is so catchy and the production is always on point; it's impossible not to dance to. Their 1st album is fantastic, but their 2nd album, Disappear Here, is superior and another top of 2016. Here's some of their work; Spoiler Majid Jordan: Fell in them with them last year; they literally can't make a bad song. They're a PBR&B duo best known for: co-writing and co-producing Drake's hit, Hold On, We're Going Home, the other work with Drake, and co-producing and co-writing Mine from Beyonce. Their self-titled debut album is flawless and easily 1 of the best albums of 2016. They serve top notch vocals and visuals. Here's some of their work; Spoiler The Neighbourhood: Last but definitely not least. Again, another favorite band of mine. I like to think of them as the male version of Lana Del Rey, just more R&B and experimental influenced. It's funny they worked 1 of Lana's producers and a Lana and The Neighbourhood collab track would sound amazing. It's to pinpoint them to a specific genre, but alternative rock is their core, with R&B, experimental, and electronic influences. They are best for their single, Sweater Weather, from their debut album, I Love You. All their releases are wonderful, but their sophomore album, Wiped Out! is impeccable and a top album of 2015. Here is some of their work; Spoiler "My people… need to let our bitchiness out. Otherwise, it turns to bile and poisons us"

Saint Hollywood 37,364
Here are my recommendations Bridgit Mendler: She may not be as popular as she was back on Disney Channel but she still remains talented, and it shows all throughout her latest EP, Nemesis. This release is a great start for the new direction she's going in. Spoiler Here's the lead single Here's the EP Jon Bellion: His latest album, The Human Condition, had me slain back when it was released in summer 2016. You may have heard his song, "All Time Low", as it's been played on the radio a lot for the past few weeks, but that isn't his only song. Please check him out Spoiler Here's another single from the album Here's the album, eat it up hunties Birdy: An amazing artist, hands down in my opinion. Her latest album, Beautiful Lies, had me emotional throughout most of the album. Take a listen Spoiler The lead single w/ its video (a nice bop imo) Here's a tear-jerking ballad she did with Rhodes, another phenomenal artist. (This video has the visual that I thought the MR video would have ) Here's the album, little flopsters Ryn Weaver: I love this artist so f***ing much. She is extremely underrated and deserves to be known by the public. Her debut / latest pop-indie album, The Fool, is an enchanting journey from beginning to end, and was the soundtrack to my last two summers. She has also confirmed that a new album of hers will be out later this year, so keep an eye out. Spoiler Here's her most popular track & video. Here's the original video for the song above, as she didn't like the original, despite the fact that it was already out for some time. (Make Me teas) Here's her A M A Z I N G debut album. Zella Day: Another remarkable artist that caught my eye with her indie-pop song, "East Of Eden." Her latest album (also debut), Kicker, has a number of mysterious & entrancing tracks, that hopefully will have you hooked. Spoiler Here's a notable track from the album. Her latest album. FKA twigs: She is undoubtedly the queen of experimental music. Her entire vibe and sound always leaves me wanting more. Her latest album, LP1, and EP, M3LL155X, will possibly become your new addiction. Her latest release though is a single for a project called Soundtrack 7, by the name of "Good To Love." Plus, she can DANCE. Spoiler Here's a clip from her 16-minute EP music video that will leave you hoémos™ shook. Her third and newest EP. Ella Eyre: A great singer and the way she presents herself is just / Her self-titled EP is a great introduction to her debut album, Feline, which sadly is not available to stream in the U.S. (where I am ) Her most notable track is a cover of Jermaine Stewart's 1986 track, "We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes Off." Spoiler Another great track by Ella. Her self-titled EP (just look up the debut album because I'm not able to find it since I'm in the U.S.) dvsn: Phenomenal artist. His album, SEPT 5TH, is one of the best R&B i've heard in the last year or so. Check him out. Spoiler His most recent video. His album. (Hallucinations is SOOO GOOOD) Other artists (most here are more popular though) that are great: Alessia Cara, Troye Sivan, Majid Jordan, Kelela, Jessie Ware, Jhene Aiko, Chloe x Halle, and Banks. you're welcome hunties
