All I know is Joanne is still my favorite! I'll love it forever. Even if it would have missed the billboard 200 completely, It's been a very long time since an album has made such an emotional connection with me. It can "fade" into oblivion for all I care I'll still love it. preach
E24187 615
I mean.....Gaga doesn't have to make gay dance music to have good music and good music isn't exclusively gay dance music. Don't know why this needs to be said but based on some of these responses......... And surely some of you aren't seriously trying to equate sales with music quality. What is going on in this thread? After the Born This Way single faded, the album sales and chart position dropped like a hot potato and was then over shadowed in the GP's eyes by Adele's 21 which was sonically the opposite of BTW. Ask anyone who ruled 2011 and you'd be delusional to say Lady Gaga. Didn't see any of you making these excuses. To be fair, her sales and chart positions were never as stable and strong as Adele, Taylor or Beyonce. Including The Fame and The Fame Monster eras. At her peak, she's still under those three. The difference was back then, she made a big enough spectacle of herself to stay in the headlines even if her hits weren't as big as theirs. Not trying to read her but some of you need a reality check. If anything, I'd say all of her pre-BTW attention demanding antics are finally catching up to her and given Joanne isn't exactly what you'd hear on Top 40, her inconsistent promo and general lack of interest she appears to have, Joanne's chart performance pretty much makes sense to me. Not sure if RedOne "bops" would've changed anything other than the satisfying the teenage, club going gay portion of her fan base. The bigger issue is to change people's perception of her which will only come with time. I recently overheard someone describing her as seeing the circus for free. This is clearly a reference to 2009Ga, which WAS true. Bad Romance and Telephone were only hits because of the videos. People expected this to continue and the BTW video was sort of a letdown and we won't even discuss TEOG. To me, this is where she has currently dropped the ball. The quality of the music is more or less the same. I think she put the record on hold now to focus on the halftime show, which is the right thing to do so that's probably why we aren't getting any updates regarding the album. She sabotaged herself with the MR video and they tried to remedy it by adding the other MR performances to VEVO so it counts for streams. I don't think the Super Bowl is going to have this monstrous effect some of you are hoping for. At best, she'll be in the news the rest of the week assuming Donald Trump doesn't do anything. If her team has her best interests st heart, they'll use that air time to re-shift focus back to the album and start churning out visuals with replay value. Those people can say they don't care about charts. Even I actually find it annoying when music I like is also really popular with the GP. It can become overplayed and ruin it! So true, myself and most of the people I know listen mostly to music that are/were absent of the charts in the first place. So music that is charting or "commercially successful" is quite irrelevant for many of us. "Fame Is A Boomerang" - Maria Callas

And having no commercial success will definately provide the coin for her to keep making music and going on tour and putting on amazing shows for US I honestly bet everyone she fired is laughing rn edit: the headlines "lady Gaga working with Dallas Davidson"

She has the talent to deliver an amazing show without a huge budget. Indie artists do it all the time. It may not have some of the expensive effects, but it could still be an amazing show. Gaga won't have to worry about that though, because she's still achieving number one albums (Didnt it go Gold in the US?). So I have to assume there is still enough success/budget for her tour, even if she isn't "on the top" like she used to be.
Caca 1,414
I'm sorry, but I'm stupid, when will the Superbowl be? Mrs. Caca's career found dead in a ditch, re-evaluation process started.

RainingOnMe 7,280
Why do people let sales define the music. Let the music speak for itself. Personally I think it's an amazing album that broke music standards.

Joanne's second single was written by Hillary Lindsey, a country hit maker. The entire album was produced by Mark Ronson fresh off the massive sucess of Uptown Funk. Every song on this record was crafted by professional song writers and hit makers. So let's ditch that excuse. I agree I may be generalizing a little bit, but I see them more as intimate collaborators, as opposed to whole companies of 10-15 people working on a single track like other artists. Probably my own semantics I guess; I see your point though.

TeenIdle 126,560
I can't at some people forcing their opinions as facts. OT: Joanne has already outsold some of these albums in sales with no hits and without being generic. That means people are here for this album, whether some of you like it or not. 𝖓𝖊𝖜 𝖗𝖊𝖑𝖎𝖌𝖎𝖔𝖓
MJHolland 12,725
Girl when was it ever here Every single has flopped, hence so is the album What did we expect from a country album for Lady Gaga that half of her own fanbase hated from day 1? If her fans weren't here for it, the GP won't be either.
