Sad to see because Diamond Heart, A-YO, and Perfect Illusion (even John Wayne) could've been hits, yet GaGa's team isn't doing a good job at promo. :(

Lace up my boots, throw on some leather and cruise.

It's because it's not that good.

It's more like yeah they can promote more but if the music can't hold itself up in general without her doing giant performances or interviews it's clearly not resonating with people in general.

In addition: I actually think Joanne is putting up a great fight considering the current climate of the music industry. Sales are dictated by streaming and vice versa, artists riding trends to gain superficial relevance, most songs crafted by an entire team of songwriters and hit-guarantors...

I actually have so much praise for Gaga for sticking to her guns and making the music she believes in irrespective of following musical bandwagons, appeasing critics or even short-term desires of "fans". Joanne is a solidly written and immaculately produced record, and its quality should not be tarnished by its performance with peers not even of its caliber.

Joanne's lead single was produced by Bloodpop, a hit maker. Joanne's second single was written by Hillary Lindsey, a country hit maker. The entire album was produced by Mark Ronson fresh off the massive sucess of Uptown Funk. Every song on this record was crafted by professional song writers and hit makers. So let's ditch that excuse.

The album is non-urban, hiphop, EDM, or any trending genres today, what would we expect? :nails:

I don't mind her wrapping up the era and making new music for a new one.

Maybe it is fading? I haven't really been paying attention.

All I know is Joanne is still my favorite! I'll love it forever. Even if it would have missed the billboard 200 completely, It's been a very long time since an album has made such an emotional connection with me. It can "fade" into oblivion for all I care :) I'll still love it.

how come when people don't like it they're allowed to because it's their opinion

but when people say they like it they're "making excuses"?

you don't like Joanne... okay.. the world must stop and gaga must instantly put out something you like.

don't be so selfish

Exactly.

Im sorry but no one can ever say they don't want the person they stan for doing well in charts and sales, popular with the GP and at the top.

I'm not sure it's accurate to say "no one". Some people like music that doesn't chart at all. Those people can say they don't care about charts.

Even I actually find it annoying when music I like is also really popular with the GP. It can become overplayed and ruin it!

Sales=money=more albums=Bigger shows=long career

Yeah, but she might not be interested in a long pop career.  She might be ready to move on to other things.

I live outside the space time continuum.

Exactly! All these kiss assers making excuses for bad music. Does my head in

Wait, so people enjoying music you don't like means they're making excuses for bad music? :oprah:

You have an opinion, others have a different one. Don't put your opinion out there if you can't handle others having a different one
