Generational Icons Have Similar Music Patterns

I seriously did not know how to make the title sound clear at all

VMA-archive.jpg

I consider the (Female) Pop Icons for their generations are

Madonna (80s to Mid 90s)

Britney Spears (Late 90s to Late 00s)

Lady Gaga (Late 00s to Late 10s/Early 20s)

This thread isn't to debate who the Pop icons are, or how long they'll last. This is just to compare patterns I see in their music. This is also not me saying that Britney and Gaga copied Madonna, but I think they all took a Music Path that led them to Pop Icon status.

These aren't really organized they are just patterns I saw in their music that are present in each one of their careers

Huge Breakout Single That Went to Number 1 (No Gradual Climb with other Singles): Like A Virgin/Baby One More Time/Just Dance (Madonna's was a little more Gradual, but Still Very Breakout into Stardom)

Early Single That Matched, or Came Close to Their First Hit's Success: Material Girl/Oops I Did it Again/Poker Face

Most Iconic Song Released a Few Years into Their Career: Like A Prayer/Toxic/Bad Romance

Theatrical Single: Material Girl/Lucky/Paparazzi

Single Later into Career that Became as Well Known as their Debut: Vogue/Womanizer/Born This Way (or Applause)

Successful Single That Caused Them Backlash for its Controversy: Like a Prayer/Alejandro/If U Seek Amy

Huge Comeback Single: Hung Up/Gimme More/Applause (or TBA)

Iconic Collaboration: Me Against the Music (Britney Spears)/Me Against the Music (Madonna)/Telephone (Beyoncé)

Single About Saying FU to Haters: Human Nature/Piece of Me/Do What U Want

Song about Self Expression: Express Yourself/Stronger(maybe?)/Born This Way

Underwhelming Lead Single: American Life (Maybe idk it didn't chart well)/Work B*tch (or Make Me)/Perfect Illusion

Less Iconic "Rival" That was Expected to Have More Influence in the Long Run, but Didn't: Cyndi Lauper/Christina Aguilera/Katy Perry

and there's probably a lot more that I missed

Do you think some of these similarities are apart of the Pop Icon Formula? Or does none of these makes sense and this whole thread was a Perfect Delusion

Human Nature

This one. She literally says:

Did I say something wrong?
Oops, I didn't know I couldn't talk about sex
(I musta been crazy)
Did I stay too long?
Oops, I didn't know I couldn't speak my mind
(What was I thinking)

You punished me for telling you my fantasies
I'm breakin' all the rules I didn't make
(Express yourself, don't repress yourself)
You took my words and made a trap for silly fools
You held me down and tried to make me break
(Express yourself, don't repress yourself)

I love this jam, really dislike her voice during most of the song. And as usual the visuals mesmerizing. Madonna's career has no parallel

Gimme more wasn't a smash, it had great backlash

Piece of me was the hit if i'm not wrong, at least i remember it being the biggest hit from Blackout in my country and being very talked about.

Edit Seems like it was no3 on Billboard. And it also went no1 in Canada, but Piece of Me was more sucessful overall and generated more buzz, the buzz for Gimme More was just how high she was at the VMAS
