eNICKma 240
So I just heard "The Cure," a track off Jordin Sparks' Battlefield album from 2009 for the first time and I was shocked how similar it sounds to Sia's "Fire Meet Gasoline," from her 1000 Forms of Fear album in 2014. Not so much the versus are alike but the two choruses are nearly identical. I have a strong love for both of these power vocalists but Fire Meet Gasoline is a personal favorite of mine by Sia. But, technically Jordin released The Cure five years before Fire Meet Gasoline came out but she never made it a single. The Cure chorus = 57 seconds in Fire Meet Gasoline chorus = 55 seconds in Who do you think has the better chorus?

Bad Kids 3,055
Sia's powerhouse ballad avant-garde husky voice is the one And when you say my name, like white horses on the waves, I think it feels the same, as an ocean in my veins.
Lona Delery 7,214
that's what you get when youre using the simple 4-chord-progression Sometimes it feels like I've got a war in my mind, I wanna get off but I keep riding the ride

Another two were Katy Perry- Roar and Sara Bereilles-Brave

At the end of jordins song you do hear some serious power in her voice as well. I love her, but I love fire meet gasoline more

Any artist with power vocals like theirs I'm all about. I literally just heard The Cure and instantly went straight to Sia. Sia's is better in my opinion but it's a shame it came five years later. Makes it look less original, but I still love it.

Meh, **** it it's still amazing lol Brother, keep in mind that there's an infinity of pop songs with this very same chord progression and similar melodies. When it comes to making music, it's impossible to be 100% original, not even 50% original. Nontheless, it's still my favorite sia song because of how she takes something so simple and makes it sound beautifully complex and her own. I'm the b*tch with the sauce, apparently

True statement Please don't misunderstand my intention, I love them both and I was just bored on a break at work and heard Jordins song for the first time and instantly reminded me of Sia. It was an in your face comparison between the two. Not hating on the songs or the artists. I just relayed an observation Have a good one
Illuminati 15,921
1000 forms of fear was such a perfect album i could listen to it from start to finish, fire meet gasoline is definitely among my favorites from it. at least Heidi released a commercial that was sort of a music video for it. I loved that she included the wig.
