So some songs no matter how radio friendly and generic, they will just unexplainably flop amidst the competition. Being a big artist with hype reduces the odds of a flop but doesnt garantee it... They tried promoting it to death, including making another music video, but it didn't help, and this was all a year after its original release. It peaked at #75 on the Hot 100 and the "alternate" music video only has 16M views, and its little traction in the US in summer 2016 was overshadowed by "Never Forget You", which also has 300M views and peaked at #13.
