giskardsb 12,565
An average of 114 million viewers watched the Super Bowl last year. I found this breakdown of demographics by age for previous years. It is a few years old but it wouldn't have changed much ( see below). I know that top 40 stans like to assume that anyone over 20 isn't relevant, but the fact is that the Super Bowl spreads a very wide demographic, covering the entire range of adult ages, all political affiliations, education ranges, and recent years increasingly the female to male ratio keeps getting closer. So when you all keep claiming that bringing back TF/M Gaga will be best for "the GP" that is watching the Super Bowl, you are running under the erroneous assumption that the GP is the people you talk to at school or on stan boards. The Superbowl is probably the widest demographic and viewed event in the USA every year. The vast majority of these people are not top 40 listeners, they are more likely to be classic rock and country fans than anything else. In other words, it plays right into Joanne-era Gaga's pocket. So the reality is that for the Super Bowl Rockstar-Gaga needs to be present more than TF-Gaga. Taking the Joanne vibe and shifting it a bit more rock like she always does live will be much more palatable for the majority of the SB audience, and will also make her performance stand apart from the usual pop star appearance and the bad taste left in peoples mouths by that Katy Perry debacle a few years ago. Her old hits work as rock songs, and taking them in that direction is something she always does a bit of anyway live. So yes, no TF-Ga. Bring on Rock/Country Gaga, with maybe a cameo from TB and JazzGa thrown in the mix. Stans might hate it, but America would eat it up. http://www.sportsbusinessdaily.com/Daily/Issues/2012/02/01/Research-and-Ratings/SB-demos.aspx 2011 Superbowl Female: 46% Male: 54% Age 2-17: 16%, 18-34: 23%, 35-49: 25%, 50-65: 22%, 65+ : 14%

OMonster 14,675
This demographic would be different though for the Half Time show. A lot of non-sport watching fans of the particular artist (ie. young stans...) will tune in specifically for the Half Time. The rating and demographic will vary throughout the event; with the HT attracting more young people and women. subtext / fantasy
