Drin Lon 7,875 Posted December 30, 2016 Share Posted December 30, 2016 Commercially I think Applause was a great lead single. It did pretty great too so I don't see the need in changing it. DWUW as the second single would have smashed if all the mess hadn't happened. As for the third and last single I think the best choice was Gypsy. It would have done similarly to TEOG which is great. I don't think the era could have had another successful single other than these though. But I've always dreamed of Gaga releasing a short ARTPOP film (kind of like the G.U.Y one) before the Album and lead single release. A short film with great visuals of Aura, Venus, G.U.Y, and perform it at the VMAs, with the tagline #MusicNotTheBling . It would have been epic. But yes it deserved to be a huge hit, here in the U.K. it got a hell of a lot of airplay almost double that of Applause and 4music even used to play a fanmade music video using clips of her performing it on Xfactor, the AMAs and her music videos because it got that much requests.
