I wasnt shading it tho ppl are to used to associating "generic" and "simple" or "mainstream" with something thats bad which is totally rediculous Simple songs without deep meaning have a place in the industry too we need variety. Also mainstream just means thats what most people like. So whats wrong with that??? Something can be mainstream and basic and still be good and something can be unusual and Indie and still be crap. Not surprising they put budget into her following Poker Face video too! Also Poker Face had one hell of a hook. They probably wanted to do everything in their power to garantee it got its best shot! She was a part of some game for their as far as I know. Additionally, you can see her using bwin playing cards in the video. They used to pay everything for her but consequently they used to receive a big percentage for every income that Gaga received (songs, sponsor, merchandising, tours...).
