It's not supposed to "cleanse her image". It's supposed to show her as a relatable human being, with flaws, sadness, and happiness. A human who suffers with losses and misventures, but also a human that can appreciate the beautiful little things in life and have fun with it. Of course the sadder songs will be portrayed in a "cleaner" way, but that doesn't mean the whole album should do the same. I mean, we have Diamond Heart, John Wayne, A-Yo, and Dancin' In Circles, none of those are supposed to portray her the way Million Reasons does. It's like 'Sexxx Dreams', a "potential" single but only for delusional fans that want her to be "raunchy" like Rihanna and to be no 1 with a silly catchy song like Ri.
