Lnds500 194
I don't consider it a flop, and neither do I consider ARTPOP a flop but posts like this are sooooo tempting.. I really wanna ask how many were the first week sales for Born This Way or Adele's 25. Spoiler Adele: 3.38 Million Born This Way 1.11 Million To be fair, you are comparing it with underperforming albums

Reveal hidden contents Adele: 3.38 Million Born This Way 1.11 Million To be fair, you are comparing it with underperforming albums I don't think that they're underperforming so much as Adele is overperforming. Who else in the digital era has even come close to Adele? She's the anomaly, not the norm and so comparison with her isn't really fair because virtually everyone in the industry can't compare. Tonika93 289
Ppl only call it a flop because there hasn't been a hit from the album (yet) last time I checked album sales are more important than single sales, single sales just mean a popular song whilst album sales mean more T.chambers

Hide contents Adele: 3.38 Million Born This Way 1.11 Million To be fair, you are comparing it with underperforming albums Well, to be fair, sales in general have diminished for every artist (except for Adele, of course) And we have to take into account that Adele didn't release 25 on Spotify after some months. (Same with Beyoncé, 1989 and Lemonade) Gaga's peak was around 2010-2011, sales won't be the same for her (as it seems to be). These sales are actually pretty good for an artist with 8 years of career. And Joanne has been on Spotify since day 1. But who knows? Maybe a new album in the future will have more impact than these last ones. We'll see.

That's just a ridiculous statement, everyone knows who Adele is, she's the largest icon I can think of in today's age.
