Applause. The tempo always seems more upbeat than I expect it whenever I listen to it (if that even makes sense)

yes I think I get you. And Applause is just so different its like an increasingly fast sexual throbbing of a beat.

Luxe Ford

Applause! Just hearing that staccato intro is ecstasy inducing. DJWS isn't such a dumb guy after all.

They are both growers IMO. And none of them is easy to dance to. But I do it anyway. I sort of semi-Vogue to Applause (I call it Vaguing) and slam-dance like a punk to Perfect Illusion.

What happens in Luxe Ford stays in Luxe Ford

PI doesn't even have choreo. :laughga:

They're both songs that make you wanna dance tho.

thats the best part about PI :lolga: everyone is free to channel the song in their own way rather than there being a proper way :poot:

Love both, but I'm going with Perfect Illusion (think I love it waaay more, actually). The amount of energy and rage in PI definitely outweighs Applause. Feels more authentic too, musically. The verses on Applause are strange, and the song is somewhat unrelatable in comparison to PI. I definitely have a genuine connection with PI's lyrics and energy.

Perfect Illusion is the only song of hers I don't like at all. I like every other song on Joanne, ARTPOP, Born this Way, The Fame Monster and The Fame, although I like some songs more than others, of course. I just don't like the guitar sound in the intro for PI, and I don't like the chorus. PI has it's place on the album, and I never skip it, but I would never seek it out, either.

So the choice is easy for me: Applause, hands down.

Frankenztein

I would say Applause for the overall package we got for that song in terms of a great video, great choreo, great looks, and many great performances.

I like PI as a song, but everything else falls short. Mediocre video, no choreo, mediocre looks, only 1 worthwhile performance (Sukkiri).
