Always stepping up her game. She doesn't need to release an album to sell ticket concert. And Lemonade got 100 metacritic score, and the visual video is well received by people. So, not because her singles can't chart well. But the way she released her album kinda make the singles hard to chart (I'm talking about the last 2 albums)

They will only remember her peak and nothing else and Madonna's album of two years old is only slightly outselling gaga's which has only been around for like 2 nearly 3 months, by legit 300k worldwide and that's it. Also Beyonce could be considered the same since she has only had roughly 6 recognizable hits as a solo act and 2 as a group act. Sure her overrated presence based on her looks and dance ability sustains her but she hasn't had a recognizable hit in 3 years and a major hit in almost 10 years like Gaga and they're both still doing well as album artists and both known for their tours like Madonna is so it literally doesn't matter. Gaga has an established enough fanbase and recognizable presence in the GP to tour for the rest of her career. But she's doing it right she's picking up 1-2 recognizable hits per album still. Plus her latest one is having longevity with little promo. Wtf you are beyond delusional and biased. You can't compare Madonna, Rihanna, Beyoncé & Gaga, it's like comparing fruits & vegetables. Plus you're really wrong, GP knows almost every Rihanna she has released, Madonna has had hits since 2001 and Beyoncé has had way more hits when she was in Destiny's child than 2. You can't talk about a subject if you're not educated about it, you sound so ignorant talking about Rihanna, Madonna & Beyoncé careers. ‘If religion be the cause of disunity, then irreligion is surely to be preferred.’ ‘Abdu’l-Bahá

And this does matter bc it affects her tours. I want her to be still able to tour the world Gaga has always been more of an album artist though. That is why she is always among the best selling whenever she releases. Her last big hit was 3 years ago and Joanne has sold 700k plus in two months. They're promoted by a label up until a certain point. PI flopped and has been long abandoned by her team I meant "take off" as in being a successful single because of the promotion, sorry for not being more clear. Just because Million Reasons and Perfect Illusion didn't take off doesn't mean other songs won't down the line. Fans here are still expecting instant success because that's what is expected of Gaga, even though every single fan on this site knows that Gaga is not so lucky when it comes to charting. Songs like Diamond Heart (especially Diamond Heart), Joanne, Dancin' In Circles, John Wayne, and maybe even Angel Down are all single worthy and have potential to chart high. Joanne isn't over, especially when she will be promoting it at the SB while it's still a recently released album. IMO the Superbowl will be a restart button for Joanne. It will be way more publicized than her own album release was for Joanne (no shade intended). I can imagine it's hard for Gaga to choose singles when she doesn't leave room for fillers, so obviously she's going to have plenty of misses. Eventually the stars will line up. I feel like A-YO will be released as the 3rd single right after the super bowl bookmark me
Dorothy Gale 7,575
If Gaga can't get a hit off of Joanne and can't get a hit off of her next album then she'll probably need to seriously consider changing directions in her musical career or focusing on acting. PopBitch 1,218
Popstars live and die by hits in the peak of their career. Gaga was huge with hits early, but hasn't sustained big singles. Her album has been well received. But she isn't the chartmaker anymore as far as hits, and that ended pretty early for someone who was at the very top as far as original music. It really is perplexing. Luckily for her, she is multi-talented and branched out, so the drop isn't so devastating. She's a big name still, has a solid fanbase, and is a strong live performer. so I believe can still fill arenas. That is important. If sales were really low for this tour, that would be shocking for someone who was dominating in touring. But if her next album also produces no big hits, that will change. Europe isn't only the UK Actually the UK is generally a bad indicator for the rest of the continent. In most of the other european countries (like France and Germany) Joanne even flopped MUCH harder than in the UK. It did really bad in continental Europe
