We saw what happened to Katy when that left shark wasn't dancing in sync. She ended up getting upstaged by an error from a backup dancer. I bet she didn't expect that was what her performance was going to get reduced to. No one talked about how great she was, but about how great her guest stars were too. In the end, I don't think this opportunity did anything for her career. She certainly didn't become more popular. So, I'm worried that the same could happen to Gaga. If she's shown up in any way, it could ruin her last chance of a comeback. If she ends up humiliated in front of everyone, Janet style, her career could even be over. Not that I'm trying to make her or anyone paranoid because she's probably already considering all this anyway. We saw how Beyonce's fame went stratospheric post-SB. That's what happens if you play it right. If Gaga plays her cards right, this could be an amazing refreshment for her career. If not...well, we'll talk about that later. No wonder she's keeping her promo to a minimum and not travelling too far afield. She likely wants to focus all her energy on making this the most amazing thing she's ever done so that she doesn't waste this amazing opportunity. I think her SB performance should be a showcase of her as a whole artist, not just one album era. This performance needs to be bigger than the image she's promoting now, imo. I mean, I want her to do what she genuinely wants - it's her image, her art, etc. But I think from a certain standpoint she should also be adaptable to the situation.
