At the end of the day this site has rules that need to be followed, which everyone here agreed to upon registration  If you break them then yes you do need to be told not to, so in the future it hopefully won't happen again

edit: Nobody's gonna get warned or in trouble for wanting a regular post hidden or anything, :laughga:

It takes 5 seconds to report a post you want hidden, and it takes 10 seconds for a mod to deal with that report. I think 15 seconds overall for the hidden post situation is nothing much at all, and completely worth it if it means users that would abuse the delete/hide function and use it for evil aren't able to :omg:

We did agree to the rules but that does not mean we actually *REALLY* agree with them. Questioning authority is healthy imo. My whole issue was the reason behind the rule. If your primary reasoning (his reasoning) is to teach my 30 year old ass to "learn from my mistakes" then you're in the wrong place.

How can a hide function where the mods see whats hidden be abused? If it's hidden and not reported then no one saw it and there should be no issue. Though, yes, if the hidden message is in violation of the rules regardless if it's reported, the user should be reprimanded.  I have written in threads before when I realize that I really had nothing to add and wanted to delete my comment altogether. So I would just like an easier process.

You know what. Maybe I should try your multi-step process first before being so adamant. (you tried to make it sound cute by dimishing them to seconds but it's still a process)

Edit: I can be a little dramatic and impatient. I'm too NY.

So I can't delete my posts because I have to learn life lessons in the process of gossiping and judging celebrities?..... ok

Nah. @RAMRODis right.  If you make a mistake just admit to it and call it a day. Otherwise just edit your post?

It's just going to create more "I'm a better fan" threads, more Gaga-hate, more SJW rubbish, more insults.  It's better to leave a footprint so we can expose you when you fail :poot:

The hardest thing in this world is to live in it

Oh no I don't think it's a "learn from your mistakes" thing if it's a post that's completely not warnable, everyone makes posts that they may not want shown anymore for whichever reason and there's no problem at all with having them hidden
