Alligator Blood 1,444
Cupcakke is a rapper and a new, very promising, rising star from South Chicago. Her biggest and most well known hits, so far, include "Deepthroat", "Vagina" and "Spiderman ****". In this recent interview she proves her intelligence, class and talks with us about her life and career story which remind a lot of miss Germanotta's - especially her past/present struggles, the things she stands for and her way to the fame. Is Cupcakke the modern Lady Gaga? Cupcakke starts off with describing her life in Chicago, she admits it was a pretty rough one but she was able to make it through thanks to the help of her loving mother. She faced bulling and discrimination in high school -just like Gaga- as well, in her case mostly because of her poverty witch resulted in her not having much clothes to wear and her peers noticing that, and teasing her for it. When asked about at what time she started being interested in music, Cupcakke tells us she used to write a lot of poetry at a very young age, then turned it into hardcore rap. Even though she was good at it, she found herself having "to stop" because that wasn't paying her bills - UNTIL last year when suddenly her genius struck with new ideas and inspirations. She said; "nobody in the scene is making vulgar music, so why not go and try be the only one who does that?". Of course a lot of obstacles came her way but she believed in herself, taking risks and thinking out of the box - so a bunch of critiques like "you can't say that, you have to censor it with banana or something" or "that's too vulgar" did not stop her from writing, now iconic, lyrics like "Suck that **** till it comes!". Cupcakke BROKE THOSE LIMITS and that's when her first hit "Vagina" was created to bless her public. Then the even bigger "Deepthroat", which includes some of the now most highly acclaimed lyrics of this generation like; "Lick, lick, lick, lick. I wanna eat your ****" and "But I can't **** up my nails, so I'ma pick it up with chopsticks", followed .. the rest is history. So, doesn't her artistic transformation remind a bit of Lady Gaga's who was an unknown, innocent indie artist first, but then decided to become a provocative pop star with no barriers? Next, we learn more about her ways to deal with hate comments (which she reveals to be unbothered by and to find as exiting as the positive ones - she loves to make people react in some way doesn't matter how), how she feels about being recognized everywhere she goes- and her fans. When asked about what kind of fans listen to her music, Cupcakke affirms her fanbase consists mostly about people within the LGBT community, and that she's very happy with that, but all kind of people can enjoy her music; from girls, boys, straights, gays etc. She named her ever-growing and influential fanbase "slurpers". The last point made by our rapper, is that the "freaky songs" is not all she does - only 5 out of 50 of her songs are sexual but she struggles with being taken seriously because those 5 records are her most popular ones. She's a actually very versatile artist, a true chameleon. Her music touches all kind of subjects; from BlackLivesMatter, pedophilia, rape, etc. Cupcakke holds those messages to her heart, because as she claims, she's been thought that and wants to raise awareness about these things because nobody in the industry is doing it or even talking about these matters. BUT SHE DOES, and that's what makes her the true icon, role model and "Mother Theresa" of this generation. At this point is almost impossible to deny that all of her story and principles remind a lot of the previous, outdated icon Lady Gaga. So, do you thing Cupcakke is the new Gaga? Are "slurpers" the new "little monsters"? State your opinion on this in the comments! Thank for reading.
